Inspirational Stories 088 We have to Uphold Our Promises

I would like to share with you one of my recent experiences regarding my practice of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.

At about 8am one morning, I offered the morning incense to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva as usual. When I lit the incense, I suddenly felt my chest tighten up. I tried my best to kowtow to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva but I felt too uncomfortable. I could not even read any scriptures. I then lied on the couch and recited the Great Compassionate Mantra and Heart Sutra several times but I had to stop as I felt extremely unwell. I guessed I must have done something that was not in accord with the dharma. But at the time, I was too sick to recall anything. After a while, I knelt down in front of my altar and repented for my mistakes to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva and I tried to recite the 88 Buddhas Great Repentance once. After that, I went back into the living room to recite some scriptures. I felt a bit better but I still felt unwell.

At around 12pm, I suddenly remembered an incident. Several days ago, my husband brought home some live scallops and I was not very pleased about it. I said to my daughter, “Your Dad brought live seafood home again”. My daughter said, “I will not eat any and thus, I am not going to commit any wrongdoings”. I replied, “We are a family. If other family members commit any wrongdoings, we are also responsible for them. I will have to recite scriptures to transfer merits to the live seafood that he is going to eat”.

For the past few days, I have used “I am busy” as an excuse for not reciting the scriptures for the live seafood. The uncomfortable feeling I experienced must have been the Dharma defenders reminding me of the promise that I had failed to keep. I immediately made a vow to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva that I would recite the Mantra of Rebirth in Pure Land 108 times for the seafood my husband consumed. I felt much better after I recited the Mantra of Rebirth in Pure Land 30 times and I was completely fine after I recited the scripture 108 times. After that, I recited the scripture another 21 times and I felt very energetic and was able to do some housework. I feel very grateful towards the Guan Yin Bodhisattva!

That day, around 3pm, I had a stomach ache and had severe diarrhoea until the next morning. In the morning, I felt weak but was relaxed. My husband told me that several days ago, my face looked very dark but now it was much healthier. I know that the Guan Yin Bodhisattva helped me to reduce a lot of my karmic debts.

Deepest gratitude to the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva and to the merciful Master Lu for leading us to such a wonderful Dharma Door with which we can use to solve a lot of our daily problems and to reduce our karmic debts. It is truly a wonderful dharma gem that has been granted to us by the Guan Yin Bodhisattva at the Age of Dharma Decline. I hope that all Dharma followers will be diligent in their practice and sincerely repent for all their sins.

The Little Houses Transferred Merits to the Foreign Spirits on My Grandpa’s Body

During the Hungry Ghost Festival (the 15th of the 7th lunar month) in 2014, a horrifying incident happened to my grandpa and my family witnessed the inspirational power of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door.

I would like to briefly introduce my grandpa. He is over 90 years old now. He used to be a government officer with great achievements. He is well educated and is always polite, generous and is fond of helping other people. 11 years ago, he had a stroke and since then, it became very difficult for him to walk and he had to be taken care of all the time by a nursing worker. In spite of his sickness, he has very strong and positive will of living long and he has always been accommodating to different medical treatments. As a result, except for the sequel of a stroke, he always has a clear mind and a healthy body. He also reads books and writes poems.

At about a month before the Hungry Ghost Festival in 2014, I dreamt about my grandpa sitting in a very dark room and his head was hanging down and was nearly disconnected from his neck. After I woke up, I realized that there might be a karmic pass for my grandpa. As such, I made a vow to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva that I would offer 21 Little Houses to my grandpa’s karmic creditors before the Hungry Ghost Festival. After I burned several Little Houses, my father told me that my grandpa’s situation was worsened because his mind was very unclear and reacted slowly. Even though my family believed in the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, they did not actually practice it. Therefore, I asked them to perform life liberation for my grandpa whereas I would recite Little Houses for his karmic creditors. After they released fishes for my grandpa, his situation became better.

A few days later, his situation was worsened again. He became extremely talkative and described his past over and over again, during which he did not allow anyone to interrupt him. Meanwhile, he was so stubborn that he said he must live in a hospital in Guangzhou (but there wasn’t anything wrong with his body). My family thought that he was at the early stage of Alzheimer disease. I recalled that Master Lu instructed us that before the Hungry Ghost Festival, our karmic creditors are released from hell and they will claim debts from their debtors. As a result, the Chi atmosphere in a hospital must be very negative. It would not do any good for my grandpa to stay in a hospital during this time, provided that he was not sick. Additionally, since there was some distance between our home and Guangzhou, it would be hard for us to take care of my grandpa. My family agreed to not take my grandpa to a hospital. As my grandpa was so stubborn, at bed time, my family had no choice but to ask a doctor to inject some tranquilizer for him to sleep.

It truly was a competition with the death in the next few days (Since I was in Australia, I had to ask my family to constantly inform me of what was going on with my grandpa).

Worried about my grandpa, my father went to my grandpa’s home early next morning. After he woke up, his situation was relatively normal and discussed political and economic issues with my father as usual. However, a sudden turn for the worse happened at 5pm. My father told me that my grandpa’s face suddenly changed and his eyes looked evil and angry. He acted completely like another person and yelled at the top of his voice that he must go to a hospital in Guangzhou. He kept blaming whoever at his home and saying that he could see and hear a lot of people asking him to go with them because time was running out. My grandpa said he knew some of those people who asked him to go. It was very obvious to me that my grandpa was controlled by a foreign spirit clinging on his body who wanted to take him away. As a result, his speech and action was under control and he could also see people coming from the Yin side (or the hell). Those who he could see could be his own karmic creditors. At the time, things went completely out of control and many people in my family arrived at grandpa’s home but none of them knew what to do. Therefore, they asked the doctor to come and gave him tranquilizer injection again but strangely, it was ineffective at all. My grandpa kept yelling at everyone for hours and breaking dishes and hitting the others (his leg that was nearly immobile could also move!). My father asked him: “Don’t you feel tired for talking loudly for more than 10 hours?” My grandpa answered: “Of course not! There was someone helping me to speak!”

My father informed me of the situation via voice messages and I immediately knelt down in front of my altar and made a vow to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva that I would offer 100 Little Houses to my grandpa’s karmic creditors on top of the 21 Little Houses I promised to offer. I sincerely prayed to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva for helping my grandpa. Fortunately, in my spare time, I saved more than 10 Little Houses for emergency use. At the time, I burned 5 Little Houses for his karmic creditors and also recited the 88 Buddhas Great Repentance and the Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots for my grandpa. After a little while, I received my father’s message telling me that a magical scene happened: my grandpa became quiet all at a sudden and had his dinner peacefully. After the meal, his said: “I am full now, I will go to sleep. You know what, my granddaughter asks me to be quiet and to take a rest. You cannot see her but I can. I also knew that she wanted to ask the Guan Yin Bodhisattva for help. Please ask her not to do so because it would not be good for her.” (Master Lu instructed us that helping others to read Little Houses means bearing some karmic debts for the other person.) Actually, on that day, my family did not mention my name to my grandpa at all. It must be the Guan Yin Bodhisattva mercifully blessing my grandpa. I would also like to suggest that we should save some Little Houses for emergency use.

After my grandpa woke up the next day, he still insisted in going to the hospital. My family really had no choice but to send him to the nearest hospital to calm him down. After a complete inspection, the doctor diagnosed that his stroke was not getting any more severe but he had Alzheimer disease. I asked my family to recite the Great Compassionate Mentra and Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s holy name for my grandpa during his stay in the hospital. Meanwhile, they should perform life liberation for him. I used nearly all my spare time to recite Little Houses for his karmic creditors. I believe that my grandpa’s situation would become better after the Hungry Ghost Festival. Since my grandpa drained his energy in the past few days, his body was very weak after he went to the hospital. But fortunately, his emotion became stable. During those days, he did not mention seeing other people or going to the hospital in Guangzhou. The nursing worker asked him about the incident happened several days ago, he could not remember anything! By the time, I had only offered 36 Little Houses to his karmic creditors. The power of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door was truly incredible! A day after the Hungry Ghost Festival, my grandpa was discharged from the hospital and up till now, he receives Chinese medical treatment and mainly has vegetarian food, his health is improving and does not lose control in his action or speech any more. My family kept performing life liberation for him and I continuously offered Little Houses to his karmic creditors. As a result, he became as healthy as before and does not have the symptoms of Alzheimer disease at all. He also writes a poem to express his gratitude towards the Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Lu.

Going through such an incidence, we deeply realize that karmic forces are irresistible. No-matter how strong one’s will power is, it is impossible for one to resist the power of karmic forces when karmic debts are activated. Thus, it is very important to practice Buddhism to repay our karmic debts before they come into effect. Master Lu enlightens us that the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is a good seed. Master Lu is to deliver such a good seed to us and to teach us how to cultivate but our harvest depends on the effort that we put in. I would like to sincerely suggest every dharma follower to cherish the Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Master Lu and the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, and to take good advantage of our time by practicing the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door with our faith and diligence.

Deepest gratitude to the Guan Yin Bodhisattva, to the merciful Master Lu and to all dharma followers!
Inspirational Stories 094 - The Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door Brought Hope to Us
Deepest gratitude to the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva and to the merciful Master Lu! Deepest gratitude to the Dharma follower who is going to share her experience with us.
Since 10:30am, I have been distributing materials and DVDs regarding the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. By noon, I had distributed most of them. Even though it was snowing lightly, my whole morning was filled with Dharma bliss.
Later that day, I met a Dharma follower who wanted to share her experience. I visited her and wrote down everything she described. She said, “I have had cancer twice, undergone 3 surgeries, 1 minimal invasive, 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 35 rounds of radiotherapy within the last two years. Nothing can describe the amount of pain I have been though. Before I started practicing Buddhism, I felt hopeless and desperate.” In those days, she had no choice but to undergo those surgeries.
Thanks to the mercifulness of the Guan Yin Bodhisattva, she was introduced to the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and started to recite scriptures and Little Houses. Since then, her health has improved and she is now cancer free! She is living well and has established a positive attitude towards life. The pain we have suffered will probably be incomparable to hers.
Our New Year wish is to share her story to inspire more people. She said, “It was worth going through all that pain because it led me to Buddhism and the Guan Yin Bodhisattva. I now understand what I should do with the rest of my life”. I was deeply touched by her words. We have to live a meaningful life and always see that there is hope.
I hope everyone will keep Master Lu’s New Year enlightenment in mind.
We should take good care of our body, grow our wisdom and stay away from wrongdoings. We should try our best to save more people, repent for our sins, accumulate merits and cherish Buddhism and our life!
I would like all Dharma followers to cherish the Guan Yin Bodhisattva, Master Lu and the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door!
