Inspirational Stories 099 The Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door has helped me a lot
2015-03-07
Deepest gratitude to the Great Merciful and Great Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, to the merciful Master Lu, to the Dharma Defenders, to my parents, to all senior dharma followers’ help, and to all dharma followers present!
I started to enshrine the Guan Yin Bodhisattva with my parents in Malaysia at an early age. At the time, I was merely worshipping the Guan Yin Bodhisattva, but did not actually practice Buddhism or understand its doctrine.
Eight years ago, I saw a foreign spirit in my office and could hear the sound it made. The foreign spirit flew in and out my office. My office was on the 19th floor and sometimes the foreign spirit would shiningly stand in front of the wall. An engineer from our office invited a monk to come and get rid of the foreign spirit. However, it returned after two days. Our behavior irritated the foreign spirit. From then on, we could always hear loud noise of a door slamming even when the door was actually closed. The bathroom light was turned off as soon as we walked in, and turned on right after we exited; we couldn’t even use the bathroom because of it. The skin color on my arm became much darker for no reason. At the time, my family was granted Australian permanent residency and my husband asked me to quit and move to Perth. If I was familiar with the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door at the time, we would have transferred merits to the foreign spirit by offering Little Houses. As Master Lu always says, dealing with an incident like this would be a piece of cake.
I have been unable to find a job in Perth ever since the first day I arrived because I did not have working experience in Australia. Failures blew my confidence. After working in my first job for less than a year, I was among the staff that had to be laid off. My second job was a temporary role, replacing a worker who was on parental leave. My third job was also temporary and I worked as a junior staff. I endured all my sadness and frustration. My husband’s career was also not going well at the time. There were foreign spirits in the first and second units we rented. We always heard strange sounds and were teased by the foreign spirits. Once a foreign spirit pushed my bed and pulled my feet. I was so scared that I ran out of my room. My younger daughter always saw big green eyes in our living place.
Later we bought a house and set up an altar to enshrine the Guan Yin Bodhisattva. My sister in law taught me how to read Buddhist scriptures. After half a year, both my life and my career became smoother. Since a colleague had a car accident, I was offered a temporary role in another department to take over her. Satisfied with my performance, my boss offered me a permanent role after one year and a half. At the time I got the offer, a more senior accountant decided to leave for Sydney to help his wife develop her business. I was then recommended to his position. One year later, he decided not to come back and I was offered his position on the 5th of January this year. I am very grateful towards the blessing of the Guan Yin Bodhisattva! It’s also the result of me being persistent in reading scriptures, helping people, introducing Buddhism to the others and performing life liberation. Within a year after I started to practice the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, my husband and children also decide to read scriptures. My husband used to complain a lot but after witnessing my changes, he also started to read scriptures. He is much happier than before. My children performed well in school. My younger daughter and I have not seen any foreign spirits since we started to read scriptures. The atmosphere in our family becomes more positive and harmonious.
After being introduced to the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, I gradually understand more and more Buddhist doctrine and perform more daily recitation of scriptures. After reciting the 88 Buddhas Great Repentance for the first few times, I dreamt about my younger daughter and me throwing out a lot of black dots. Master Lu told me that it was a sign of reducing our karmic debts. I also dreamt about a white light shining on my body brightly. While I was watching the DVD of the dharma function in Malaysia, I kept crying when I saw the image of the Guan Yin Bodhisattva and Master Lu. Other dharma follower told me that it was a response of the mercifulness of the Guan Yin Bodhisattva!
On the ceremony of becoming Master Lu’s disciple in Melbourne, Master Lu said to us earnestly: “You are all refugees, only a shabby ship like me would accept you!” I thought Master Lu was joking but after a second thought, I realized that I had too many karmic debts to deserve such a good master. I can’t hold back my tears when I am writing this. Master Lu is very merciful. After practicing Buddhism and reading scriptures, I gain a lot of confidence and wisdom in handling matters. The things that I considered difficult before have become much easier to deal with. Probably because of the wisdom I have acquired, I am no longer fussy about many matters in life. I am now aware that eating live seafood creates a lot of karmic debts. I used to love eating crabs and suffered from a pain in my arms and my back. After reciting scriptures and Little Houses, the pain has disappeared! During the dharma functions in Sabah and Penang in Malaysia, I was truly impressed by other dharma followers’ dedication in their practice. During totem inquiry, I noticed that some dharma followers had severe illness. I should cherish the good fortune I have. Since I saw dragons in the sky in Penang, I can see a lot of dragons in the clouds every day and have also seen one of the four heavenly Buddhist guardians. I experience a lot of dharma bliss whenever I go out.
The Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door has helped me a lot and it also helps us to communicate with the Guan Yin Bodhisattva easily, as long as we adopt the triple gems – reciting scriptures, performing life liberation and making vows. In the meantime, we should also perform dharma giving, monetary giving and wisdom giving, focus on the good sides of a person, be selfless, stay away from the three poisons, and help the others without asking for return. By doing so, our life will be smooth and fulfilling, and our body will be healthy. Being healthy is a great fortune. Tomorrow is the day my family become Australian citizens. I wish all dharma followers can be persistent in reciting scriptures, propagating Buddhism, making vows, performing life liberation and in cultivating ourselves. Thank you very much.
