AT WORK?[emoji92]

Caller : There is a Dharma friend whom by nature is a little sensitive. He often feels giddy when he is at work. Once he is off-duty, the condition subsides. He feels that the energy fields of her colleagues are affecting him. May I know, when he recites Great Compassion Mantra, how should he goes about stating the prayer?

Master Lu : This is a very common phenomenon. It is just that many people are not aware of it. As soon as they interact with each other, headaches and discomfort will set in. When this happens, it means that he is greatly affected by the other party’s energy fields.

Caller : Yes, it could be due to the fact that all of them do not practise Dharma, and the things they say are different.

Master Lu : That’s right. The things they say are meaningless. Under such circumstances, it is best to say the prayer to Guan Yin Bodhisattva, “May Guan Yin Bodhisattva bless me with wisdom, I need to avoid these meaningless chatters. May Guan Yin Bodhisattva have compassion and mercy on me”. That’s it.

Caller : Master Lu, with regards to deceased’s death anniversary, can we perform the memorial ritual in advance?

Master Lu : Don’t make it a common practice. Try to perform it on the actual day. If you do it in advance, they may not “come out” yet. Especially there are some deceased who are under strict supervision in the underworld. They are not able to make their way out should you do it in advance.

Caller: Master Lu, on the radio programs you often mentioned that there are many people practicing Dharma nowadays, but many are not truly cultivating. What is considered true cultivation? Is persistently performing recitation daily considered true cultivation?

Master Lu: Not necessary. Daily recitation is only a formality. A true Dharma cultivator will always emulate Bodhisattva's thoughts, actions and speeches and allow them to govern their actions and apply them in their daily lives. That is considered true cultivation.

SUCESSFULLY CULTIVATING IN ONE LIFETIME THROUGH GUAN YIN CITTA DHARMA DOOR Wenda 2015021301:43:04 (Master Lu’s call-in radio programme)

Caller: A fellow Dharma brother dreamt that a voice told him: “Dharma brother XX's karmic debt is only 4% presently.”In his dream, he thought to himself, is this not leaving the cycle of samsara? Then another voice said: “this is the first person from Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door to achieve it.” This fellow Dharma brother thought: are there not many Dharma brothers from Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door who were Bodhisattvas before and had vowed to come back?” He pondered again: This is the first person from Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door to achieve it through self-cultivation. When this fellow Dharma brother woke up, he felt immense bliss. This is to say that one can cultivate successfully in one lifetime through GuanYin Citta Dharma Door !

Master Lu: Oh, of course! Even a bad person, when you…. there was an old saying “Put away the butcher’s knife and become a Buddha immediately”. When you put your heart and soul together and cultivate faithfully, you will surely be able to cultivate successfully in one life time. No matter how much wrong you have committed previously, you can change as long as you could realise your wrong doings, you have already woken up. You will perpetually be dreaming if you have not woken at all; it is only when you wake up, then you realised, “I have succeeded!” (Yes, indeed).

Caller: Master, if there are lights on our heads, will the karmic creditors be able to get into our bodies?

Master Lu: When there are lights on our heads, karmic creditors will not be able to access the bodies. Have you read the story “Journey to the West”? When the Monkey God drew a circle around Monk Tripitaka to protect him, the circle glowed; could the demons enter the circle? (Oh, if there is light on the body, when a person passed away, the light will not disappear?) Yes, the light is perpetually on the body. (What if the person is reincarnated, will the light still be with him?)

When a person is reincarnated, the glow of the light will determine the future rebirth into whichever good household the affinity brings. Then the light will slowly disappear. However, once you are reborn and able to retain your original nature as well as practise Dharma cultivation immediately, the light will reappear very quickly. (Does it mean that if there is light on our body, we will have affinity with Buddhism when we are reborn?). Yes, indeed. (Oh, do I have lights on my head presently?) You have lights on your head presently and your face will also shine if you scrub it a little more often, haha. (My face is very dark, I could not scrub it any brighter).

Guan Yin Citta Brought Me Hope

My deepest gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva, to all Buddhas and Boshisattvas, to Master Lu, to Dharma Defenders, and to all dharma practitioners!

My name is Liu Xiuhua and I am an ordinary worker. On 31 May 2014, I fell down accidentally when I was travelling, resulting in some fractures in my fibula and tibia. I had surgery the next day. However, after the surgery, my feet, calf and thigh swelled up. After a further medical check, I was diagnosed with deep venous thrombosis. The doctor also warned me that if the thrombus somehow travelled to my heart, my life would be threatened and such an incident could happen any time. I felt despair as I could die at any time. I wanted to stay in the hospital but I could not afford the medical expenses.

A year later, I met two dharma practitioners in a small local market. They gave me some materials of Guan Yin Citta. After reading them, I decided to give it a go – I started to perform daily recitation of scriptures and to recited Little Houses.

At the beginning, my head hurt whenever I started to read the Heart Sutra. The dharma practitioner told me that it was caused by my karmic creditors. Not long later, I dreamt about one of my teachers who had passed away. Therefore, I decided to offer Little Houses to my teacher. After offering the 12th Little House, my husband had a dreamt that the teacher told him he would not come any more. Since then, I had never dreamt about the teacher again.

Due to my heavy karmic debts, at the beginning, I did not offer enough Little Houses. My legs were really painful. The doctor told me that it was normal. I consulted a senior dharma practitioner and I was advised to make vows in front of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, and to adopt the Triple Gems of Guan Yin Citta. On the same night, I made several vows to Guan Yin Bodhisattva in front of my altar. Firstly, I would adopt a full vegetarian diet for the rest of my life. Secondly, I would offer 108 Little Houses to my karmic creditors. Thirdly, I would release 10000 fishes. Fourthly, I would share my experience with the others and to introduce Buddhism to the others after my sickness is cured.

The Guan Yin Citta was truly effective and inspirational! The pain in my legs was gone on the next day. I carried out my promises from then on and the swelling in my legs became less and less severe. Guan Yin Bodhisattva helped me to cure my sickness, which was deemed to be incurable by doctors. One day, I was reciting scriptures in front of my altar. The door suddenly opened and I could smell the scent of sandalwood. At the time, my husband was sleeping. Later he came to me and said, he dreamt about Guan Yin Bodhisattva coming to our altar, and both of us cried and knelt down in front of her. Guan Yin Bodhisattva carried me on her back and put her palm on his head. I was not sure what this dream meant. The senior dharma practitioner told me that Guan Yin Bodhisattva helped me to reduce my karmic debts and blessed my husband with dharma power. Guan Yin Bodhisattva was very merciful to us and brought us dharma bliss. I developed a lot of faith for Buddhist practice.

When I offer incense on my altar, I always see inspirational phenomena that suggest the presence of Guan Yin Bodhisattva. For example, the incense would circle into many rounds. I could not help my tears whenever I saw this. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to practice Guan Yin Citta. I wish that my personal experience could encourage those who slack off in their practice, and those who do not have enough faith for Guan Yin Citta, to become diligent in their practice. My gratitude again to Guan Yin Bodhisattva, to Master Lu, to Dharma Defenders, and to all senior dharma practitioners!

Caller : Master, as Dharma practitioner, how do we regulate and balance our "Yin Yang" Energy and Five Elements?

Master Lu : Practising Dharma is in itself regulating one’s "Yin Yang" Energy and Five Elements. For example, before you start to practise Dharma, you are very ill-tempered. This indicates that you have more of the “yang” energy as compared to “yin” energy. Now that you started to cultivate, you know that you need to regulate this temperament. As such, you no longer argue or fight, you are able to speak politely and your tolerance level has improved. You have thus, regulate these dynamics.

Practising Dharma is the best way to regulate one’s "Yin Yang" Energy and Five Elements. The best “fengshui”, is no better when compared to the effect of performing recitation of scriptures.

Caller : In the Five Elements of metal, wood, water, fire and earth, some people may have more of the earth element, while others of the water or wood element. Is it right to say that, through Dharma practice and performing recitation of scriptures, one is able to regulate these dynamics?

Master Lu : Correct. Only with the power of Bodhisattva you are able to resolve the imbalance of these elements, for example too much of water or wood element, etc. If you rely on placing a piece of wood or some water elements at home, this will just produce a temporary relief of the effects, it is unable to rectify this dynamic thoroughly. Performing recitation of scriptures, on the other hand, is the path that allows you to do just that.

Caller : Master Lu, in the same context, some people lack water element, while others lack wood or metal element. Through performing recitation of scriptures, are they able to enhance these elements?

Master Lu : That’s right. Take a person who are lacks metal element, for example. For those who do not practise Dharma, wearing gold items will have some effect but to a limited extend. As for a Dharma practitioner, when you perform recitation of scriptures, you are as if sprinkling the golden light of Bodhisattva on yourself. With this, do you think you will still be lacking of metal element?

Caller : No, not anymore.
