People's life is very short, to rely on your own to master with cherish, with limited life to exchange infinite wonderful. We must not be dragged by the karmic impressions (our habitual tendencies of thinking) and obsessed with all existing things. If we accidentally lose our life because of ignorance (for example: When we were young, we used fire to burn ants, fishing and killing, ...), we will miss the precious opportunity to continue to survive and help sentient beings in this world. We should be responsible for our own cause and effect, and not influenced by the habituality of thought (intrinsic potential consciousness). You may wish to use positive energy/thinking to get rid of bad habits and troubles, you will then be able to meet a Master or nice people to help you create wisdom for solving all the problems in life. The wisdom obtained through the practice of religious beliefs makes us feel calm, return to basics, have courage and perseverance, strengthen our faith in the infinite and eternal years, use strong will and unselfish love, overcome the difficulties and frustrations of life, and send positive energy to improve our life and help others. Today, the twenty-second day of the eighth Lunar month(20 Sep 2019), is the birthday of great Dipankara Buddha [Ran Deng Gu Fo]. If you have made a vow to be lifelong vegan and know that vegetarianism does not create new karmic hindrances, but will reduce the negative energy transmission and make our life wishful and rewarding, please join me to encourage others to eat vegetarian on this day, to commemorate the Buddha’s grace and to express our gratitude to Dipankara Buddha for the spread of Buddhism and the great contributions.

(Master Jun Hong Lu's call-in radio program)

*MAKE A VOW TO RECITE AT LEAST 10,000 TIMES OF BUDDHIST SCRIPTURES WHEN FACED WITH IMPEDIMENTS*

Caller: Master Lu, a Buddhist practitioner, who was born in the year of Snake in 1977, has been jobless for one and a half years.

Master Jun Hong Lu: Quickly make a vow to recite 50,000 times of _Cundi Dharani_ (Zhun Ti Shen Zhou). From now on, if things are not going smoothly, you have to make a vow to recite a substantial amount of Buddhist scriptures, such as Cundi Dharani and _Mantra to Untie Karmic Knots_ (Jie Jie Zhou). Specifically, it should be for 10,000 times or more.

*MAINTAIN YOUR INNER TRANQUILITY TO BE WISE*

Master Jun Hong Lu: Buddhism teaches us that we must maintain peace and serenity within our minds. As seen from the Buddhist saying, 'cultivate your mind and wisdom with calmness', a tranquil person will surely be wise. Take a look around - you will find many leaders and officers who always appear calm and they are the wise ones.

*EMBRACE OUR INHERENT NATURE*

Master Jun Hong Lu: Life is short. Why waste our precious moments worrying? Just like Guan Yin Bodhisattva, we should choose to return to a life that embraces our inherent nature. Let the deepest level of our spiritual well-being be sublimed by compassion. Let our awareness be imbued with sympathetic joy and equanimity.

*TO HELP OTHERS IS TO TRULY UNDERSTAND THEM*

Master Jun Hong Lu: You may not know what happened in the lives of others and what challenges they are going through if you view their situation from your personal standpoint. You could only draw inferences from their appearances, and would not be able to experience their state of emotions.

Many people would criticise or pass judgement on others lightly. However, if you do not understand a person, you are unqualified to blame or pass comment on him as you have not truly seen the trials and tribulations of his life.

Master hopes that everyone would practise Buddhism diligently and be able to truly understand others so as to be able to help them.

*DO NOT CHEAT ON OTHERS*

Master Jun Hong Lu: Breaking someone’s trust is like crumpling a perfect piece of paper. We can smooth it over but it’s never going to be the same again. Hence, never cheat others as those that we managed to deceive are ones who have placed their trust in us. Deception will cause us to lose the trust of our loved ones.

*BEING KIND & COMPASSIONATE CAN AMOUNT TO BOUNDLESS MERITS*

Master Jun Hong Lu: To be able to succeed in achieving one’s resolution, one needs to amass his merits consistently over a period of time. We have to constantly introspect our heart, for our blessings can only grow when our heart is filled with compassion. Only a blessed person is able to accumulate meritorious blessings; and with compassion, we will have even more good fortune bestowed upon us. Therefore, one who is blessed with good fortune must be a compassionate person. When you adopt the wisdom (prajna) of Bodhisattva to understand the sufferings of others, you are in fact putting Mahayana into practice. Master hopes that every Buddhist practitioners will learn to be kind and compassionate, and transform these energies into boundless merits. In this modern world where everyone is trying to deceive one another; this poses as the biggest challenge for one to dedicate oneself to progress and practice all-embracing heart along the path of Dharma learning.
