CUB project - does the EPS come in 2015 or 2016?

As fulcrum project will TOP in 2015 and company intends to prelaunch it in 2nd half, probably 60 to 70% of total EPS of this project will be accounted for in 2015.

Any views pls? tks.
Keeping the hotel to provide recurring income of ~2 cents per annum is a very shrewd move.
When time is ripe, the hotel can be sold off to reap the ~30 gain in NAV.

best of both world Smile

News of demolition work beginning on TM project might be out any time soon. Let's keep our finger crossed! ~ 30 cents EPS from this project alone!!!
Has Chip Eng Seng Alexandra hotel TOP? Would it be reported in its FQ1 financial report? Thanks
Hotel should TOP in 2Q15. Revaluation gains will be reflected in annual results for 2015.

The guy who bought it at super low price is not doom. He can use trailing stop to take his profit and run road. The guy who miss this train or boat is doom in heart and mind till he cannot tahan , must disturb those who make money out of envy. This is the hard truth. hehehe

Emotions and moods do not help make better investment decisions. Ok.... I m moody. Lets start by disturbing you. Lol.

Jokes aside, my own view of the raymond's exit is that there is hardly anything abnormal to it. Senior corporate people tender for all kinds of reasons, both good and bad. Still remember jackson from ue and he left without explanation and it was so sudden. Like us common folks, we fire the boss (also) reasons of all sorts and get a job for any kind of reason (both sane and also often irrational).

I wouldnt lose sleep at all. Any value investor (for that matter) shouldnt be sleepless over this. Leadership change is part and parcel of any organisation. Change is necessary anyway. Just like tim cook taking over the reins from steve jobs, he is doing a fine job still.

Corporates dont necessarily have to make "popular" decisions to make us (value) investors and speculators happy. If they do, i would be sleepless. Looking at the facts, ces made good decisions in recent history like the hotel venture which gives it very good certainty in terms of revenues and flipping the melbourne property for the capital gains.

Certain corporates turn to financial engineering n investors flock to them cos of the "attractive" figures. Its no rocket science that the fundamentals still must prevail and whatever financial engineering is just make see for that moment. Like choosing a fling, anyone pretty enough and young enough can do. If one is picking a spouse, then its the character (or fundamentals) and any look also can do.
Thanks ves....

Looks like bear market has just started, prepare to see the downfall of ces...might still hover around 0.90...after xd.... most likely 0.80 or below...and as the bear prowls on... we will see 0.45 or lower....
Some personalized businesses stick to the person and tag along wherever he goes,
Whereas, some adhere to the company,
as success is often the result of a huge team but not an individual.

CES is a team not an individual
Did anyone invest in CES because of the CEO ?
I did not.

However, I confess, I sold my Chartered Semiconductor shares because someone powerful left.
If anyone is saying CES is "not good enough" or "risky,
I will try to agree with you,
but can you please suggest a few alternatives from SGX list,
so as to allow us compare the fundamentals ?

Let's enjoy analyzing ...

All meaningful suggestions will be appreciated.

Really talk smart, try choosing one that got no eye and no hand and leg. I will salute you. LOL

More important, can talk , can do. We don't hold stock even if it FA is solid. In any sell down, we must join in and sell and buy back later cheaper. What profit us if we follow it down then up later. We know we cannot be so lucky to buy at rock bottom, but at least we buy at one of the bottom(low) to benefit from the sell down. You can also buy and average down if you got deep pocket, but that is not advisable, cause in a extreme bear market the bottom is super deep. CES could be 20c, who know.

You learn nothing from those who are blinded with envy, neither can they offer you alternative. Their alternative is a crash to buy cheap. But when cheap come, you bet they will procrastinate and dare not buy and miss the train again as usual, and later when market turn up, they as again will be envy of other who bought bravely at the bottom.

Better do due diligent then base on other opinion. If you fail, at least you know why. I would add that after reading here you still got to do due diligent rater than take it as investment fact.
