The 14Jul (last Fri) announcement also showed a position of 88.57%. I took the trouble to check, and the difference between the 2 dates is just 2,999 shares, all from new acceptances on 17Jul.

From their latest position to cross the 90% threshold, Offeror needs to secure at least another 3,146,513 shares by 3Aug. We can all make our guesses on their chances. How the remaining minority shareholders decide on their own shares will determine the fate of Penguin as a listed company. Of course, we do expect the Offeror to play by the Rules and follow them strictly.

For me, I have decided to hold on to my prized Penguin shares for a much higher offer in the next GO.

Also, today there were 2 buyers queuing ahead of the Offeror's big order at $0.83 as a disturbance. Hahaha..

Of course. From what I understand, the rule is D+4 months to get 90% in order to compulsory acquire the remaining dissenting shareholders. D is defined as the date which the offeror dispatches the offer document.

So, it is not the number of extensions that the rule is saying. But rather, the time period from the date where they started this offer going, which is defined as the date which they dispatches the offer document.

Hope that the above clarifies.
As a shareholder of Penguin, I have received call from W Capital asking if I have accepted the offer. I am surprised they have my number. Did anyone else receive such a call. Wonder should I complain to Penguin/ SGX and MAS.

Sounds like more than eager, more like desperate! I hope you are not moved by it. If you really want to lodge a case, I believe the correct official channel is SGX Regco Whistleblowing Office..
