Can it be done ?

The answer is no. There are certain rules in place in terms of milestone events for any takeover offers. The final date is normally 4 months after dispatch of offer document. If the offeror couldn't acquire 90% of the offer shares by then in order to commerce compulsory acquisition, the offer will lapse.

Thank you for the information

Anyone are still holding this like me? I am just hoping that they can continue keeping the company listed, but even then with them likely holding more than 80%, perhaps they are not that investors friendly like in the past.

There's a bet on that after this failed offer, PIL will have to pay a big dividends to pay for the purchase on the accumulated shares so far... Big Grin

but there could also be a case that PIL will cease any dividends payouts...

worth a bet sir? Smile

Me. Keppel is also holding on to their shares until now.
If the company still producing solid results, whether they hike or cut the dividend, it doesnt really matter to me. The integrity of the management is more important.
