2023 = 56 cts offer again...

i see it as an attempt to just mop up as much loose shares as possible for 2023, and hope to make a final offer in 2024, before ACRA's SPV cut off rules kicks in...

anyway, market's buy-in price is 58cts, impelling possible price revision...

Starting the offer with an unloved price to be used as an anchor for a subsequent revised price, seems to be playbook for most recent takeovers.

Came much faster than I thought it would.

REVISION OF OFFER CONSIDERATION

UOB wishes to announce, for and on behalf of the Offeror, that the Offeror is revising the Offer Consideration as follows:

For each Offer Share: S$0.60 in cash (the "Final Offer Consideration")

UOB wishes to announce, for and on behalf of the Offeror, that the Offeror does not intend to revise the Final Offer Consideration.

The revision of of the offer price from $0.56 to $0.60 comes only 7 days after the offer announcement on 30May23. Wow, what's the hurry?

As this is an unconditional GO, minority shareholders selling their shares into the market at $0.60 from tomorrow or accepting the offer later, will lose all their rights and future entitlements of their Challenger shares.

This confirms that Founder/Fund is just trying their luck to mop up any loose shares in the market... by depressing 2023 dividends, starting from a similar low-ball offer 2019-56cts, and using the "saved" dividends to revise price up now to 60cts to make it "attractive" to opmis....

There is no more price revision, and i dare BET that this offer will fail.

Such a wayang/show... doesn't reflect well on mgmt....

Calling all shareholders, HOLD-ON, DO NOT SELL! wait for 2024's offer!
Guessing next offer to up 20%!!!

Hi Bratzz,

This is not the "lowest low ball" they can do, you can read Best World thread to see what damage can be done. End up shareholders may own Challenger which issues no dividends despite being profitable

Captive/stucked Fund Dymon 17%, would want some minimum ROI...it sucks to be them at the moment as they are stuck!
i am guessing there will be minimum/enough dividends for Dymon to "breakeven" annually somehow, window dress their fund performances report, nice and neatly... Tongue

BW does not have any funds' stucked/interests, so basically D&D bosses can FREEDOM $$$$$!!! soo shiok! ... lolz! Big Grin

Popular is unlikely to become a strong competitor in the retail distribution of IT products. Like in any business, you need a strong focus and commitment to succeed. Besides, IT products involve continuous technological evolution therefore potentially higher risks in inventory obsolescence and management, and requires experience in smart merchandising - an area Challenger has, but Popular does have much.
Dymon bets on challenger, lost, but is still going through offer/re-offer process painfully, that itself is an indicator of the real value of challenger! Big Grin
