Yea. Last year the first 3 quarters drag us down. But lucky that 4th quarter is good. City square and gem opening so at least will cover east point renovations. Lets hope this year will be a good year
ya lor the 1st 3 quarters were really flat
at least they did well for the 4th quarter to push a bit of growth
I was thinking worst case a flat year but the small growth was good enough
Final dividend is 1.25 cents, plus interim dividend of 1.0 cents paid, the full year dividend is 2.25 cents, slightly higher than last year 2.2 cents.

Base on share price of 0.445 today, the full year dividend yield is 5.1%

I just looked at pertama's results (FYI they run Harvey Norman)
sibei jialat

I think if we compare challenger to pertama, maybe challenger did a great job
however I will be waiting for courtsasia results to make a fairer comparison

I notice during xmas and start of the new harvey norman was advertising like crazy, so many discount and sales.. end up they making losses... dunno what they trying to do sia.. omg
As expected, another good set of results for FY12.....

It is worth noting that Challenger has used its FCF and cash reserve to repay all its previous bank debts - so the group is now debt-free again!

I like to call this business "Battleship Challenger".

Ya. i was sent retail outlets like Courts, harvey and best denki. Their overheads are too high. Very often there are more staff than customers for a lot of their outlets and they advertise very fiercely and they sell all sort of stuff from rice cooker to television. thats why they have high revenue but their profits is only a fraction of it. Unlike Challenger which have more focus on IT products and small accessories.

yeah being net cash always feels good,
as long as they make profits, the company can never go broke

Ya lor, last time Courts was focusing more towards furniture... now they getting smart liao, keep spamming those laptop and other IT promos etc~ they were fighting very fiercely during christmas... I listen to radio keep hearing Courts Advertisments...

One thing I notice about challenger, is they don't really spend that much on marketing.. they post on the website and their members will auto go support...dunno why sia

One advantage challenger has is those specialize apple corner or samsung corner

example http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news...nger-funan

Courts I notice a lot of their earnings comes from their customers taking installment plans, they make like 20% extra from the effective interest... damn evil sia hahahaha

Whereas Challenger, mostly their customer just pay in full upfront, which I prefer also.
er. this is the first share i bought, a few days ago. so when is the 0.25cents of dividend getting paid and to where?
they will announce the dividend dates

usually in may and august

last year aug we got 1c liao
so this may we getting 1.25c

huat ah~~~
so is this result good enough to increase the price tomorrow? lol
