No dissident within PAP ranks when the Party Whip is held on.

This is simply bulldozing through at all costs.

They just rammed it down our throat . They know the ground is not so sweet and by doing this it is the only way they can get back their own support base becos all the new FT citizen will bite for them out of gratitude and fear....

They still dun believe that when FT had the choice to leave they will leave papies stranded. No such thing as loyalty and attachment. Their roots will call them back.

Come 2016 vote them out and show them we are their master.

Congrat, those who has multiple properties...huat arh.

Clap Clap.. PAP sold out Singapore on the 11th Anniversary of late President Ong Teng Cheong...

I am very disappointed by the government. The quality of debate is not there. If they believe that this is the right decision, the way they have tried to sell the policy is simply poor execution. Is this really a case of party/ personal interest above people?

Laurence Lien's speech seems more reasonable...

In the latest update, Inderjit Singh did not take part in the voting process. For what reasons I am not sure.

Inderjit Singh: Prime Minister decided to slow down growth of foreigners as i asked, i think him for listening. best you read carefully what he said - he addressed many of the issue we raised and promised to change things. I spoke from my heart and will do what i can to change things. For your information, i did not vote!

Nevertheless, all the present PAP MPs voted aye, including the Speaker of Parliament Halimah. One can only speculate what would Mr Singh choice if he was present with the Party Whip held on.

The talk of the day from WP was that LTK requested for a division of motion when an endorsement on the White Paper was seeked in Parliament today. What precisely was the reason I am not sure at all.
The concept from my understanding is that Division of Motion means the Parliament must record how many oppose and agree and publish the numbers of who agree and who not.

Some interesting stuffs may be found in this HWZ thread - http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-dr...92-13.html
So, about half a million dollars were spent during the last week for them to talk and talk, and this is the result? Confused
why white paper throw out immediately after they lost the BE.

Think there a hidden agenda, something fishy.
If not why so hurry and close the chapter. Why dun go for referendum?
Why so stupid to upset the people further....
Something deeper than that...let's wait and see from here....

My take: Nobody in their wildest dream expect PAP to lose the BE, let alone a difference of more than 15% to the WP.

The earlier the White Paper is passed, the easier it is to import even greater numbers of FTs into Singapore.
Just observe the laws recently implemented in these few years.
No more PRs to sublet whole flat, higher ABSD for PRs, higher school fees and lower medical subsidy for PRs, etc etc.

All these are having a twin effect. 1. to show the citizens are valued. (yeah right I knw Confused) and to push the PRs to convert to New Citizens in order to have their grateful votes.

One thing highly uncertain. We all talked about New Citizens definitely giving PAP their votes. How about those not-so-new New Citizens who faced the same circumstances as us?

Would they choose to continue their grateful votes or would they start to think like us? This is an unknown factor, but of cos, from their grassroot levels, they assumed this is the case.
Unfortunately, Punggol East was not supposed to fall to WP either.

So one sentence. 人算不如天算
i say it again:- "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely" You can do nothing about it until 2015/6. Let's see what is the response on 16 FEB. 4 P. M. at Hong Lim Park.
Already confirmed but still need to debate for the sake of debating .
