conclusion i think it is probably being sold..
Anw i think shld focus on their steel biz prospect, and their development project, if they r going to sell or rent..
Selling the whole property n taking the profit to reinvest will be very healthy. If they consider half sell half rent also okie, so long as use sales proceeds to reinvest further it will be gd for the company.
Inorder for this count to move i think all star must be aline meaning to say their steel biz pick up, venturing into new sector n foray into commercial property, they may not have the expertise yet, but definetly hv the advantage of being the supplier for construction materials. i think it will compliment their existing biz. if they die die stick to marine steels then all hope is lost, the key is to turn as the market turn.
i hope so. they got a very experienced ceo lim kt n another president scholar ong km at its helm.
lets see what they can come up with wrt the steel biz.

beautiful 888lots in queue at 22.5
All is quiet with this counter. No updates on the lawsuit too.

yes. pple r beginning to do some simple maths. hup seng huat spending 14m to end up with a 80000sf freehold floor built up worth some 60-80m ready in 2yrs time on a land purchased 35yr ago n book value of it last updated 20yrs ago.
happen to do my site visits.
2 green coloured kobelco excavators in kim chuan site with another inside, with a small number of workers busy working.
building not torn down as yet.
Results out. I only took a quick glance. Nothing to shout about. Still muddling through. The only thing that i am surprise is Huppie declared 0.5 ct dividend. I think management wake up their idea liao. No dividend share price will fall.
ya result is the same as last quarter.. barely make it thru... 2 q on bottom line basis... n they r delcaring.. 0.5 cents of dividend digging into their cash... mmmm

hi bibi,

agree this your thoughts.

in addition, i think hupsteel is shareholder oriented, since lim family holds majority stake. thus, more more than 1 decade, it has been paying out dividends without fail. this year, not an exception also.

eps 0.25 for 3 quarters yet declared 0.5 dividend.

and i note that it has 7.5m borrowings. but still very healthy overall cash position.

Paul, in one short sentence you have summarized the merits of investing in this company. It seems like not putting in money in this company is doing a disservice to oneself. Tongue You see, that is the power of having a deep understanding of a company. Well done!
