Would Resale HDB prices ever drop?

Would Resale HDB prices ever drop?

Would like to tap on the wisdom and experience of valuebuddies - would Resale HDB prices ever drop?

I am thinking:

  • HDB resale prices have gapped up strongly since 2020.
  • Interest rates are rising now.
  • If one buys a resale HDB now, would he be entering at the peak?

Hi Moderators

I do not have any social media except a rather passive Linked-In so I thought to borrow this forum as a notepad for my thoughts in life and investment journey as I approach half century old; to hopefully benefit someone in future. If this is not appropriate pls do let me know

Purpose is to share some ideas that have shaped my thinking and perspective which I hoped someone did the same for me 30 years ago. These are not investment advices and most are not original. Some ideas might seem dumb prima facie but takes time and experience to understand the nuances. I do not aim to be politically correct.

I will pen down as and when I am free or feel inspired Smile

Purpose of Life, Purpose of Work
Posted by: Choon - 19-01-2022, 09:30 PM - Forum: Others - Replies (16)

Considering that there is a high level of rationality and contemplation in this forum and I guess many forumers are in their 40s and 50s with much life experience, I would like to ask some big non-investment related questions that I have been seeking answers to for long.

Why does one want to work hard? Say a middle-PMET. He has to manage and achieve the goals set by mgmt. He has to compete for resources with other PMETs. He has to be accountable to those reporting to him - try to give them a good living and inspiring work. Imagine amongst other work, the daily never-ending routine processes and tactful/passive-aggressive emails that one has to write. Just to climb the corporate ladder? Really? Rising up the corporate ladder and $ and power has such a strong pull?

Why does a CEO who had already made a lot of money still want to move on to another CEO role in another company - knowing that there's surely a lot of pain and skeletons and politics in every company?

Or is there something else? Could one grow to like being able to work and just being in a position to help out colleagues around you? Could one take on a just-be-grateful and pay-it-forward attitude in work and life?

Thousands of people in northwest China have tested positive for a bacterial disease after a leak from a state-owned biopharmaceutical plant making animal vaccines last year.
Thousands of people in northwest China have tested positive for a bacterial disease after a leak from a state-owned biopharmaceutical plant making animal vaccines last year.
Contaminated gas from the China Animal Husbandry Lanzhou Biopharmaceutical Factory in Lanzhou formed aerosols containing the bacteria, and this was then carried by wind to the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute, infecting nearly 200 people there as of December last year.

Stay home and stay safe, everyone.

  Investing in Marvel stories
Posted by: Cinqueterre - 07-07-2019, 08:54 PM - Forum: Others - No Replies

Hi, I just came back from a Spider-Man movie and came back convinced that more marvel sequels are awaiting.

If I were to invest on this basis, does anyone know the owner of the rights to these motion pictures and the company structure? Specifically, which companies should I be looking to invest in? Just by Spider-Man alone, I see the names of Colombia pictures, Marvel Studio, Sony and Disney or fox.
