keeping my fingers cross for sti to hit 2900, pre-QE3 era..maybe tan gu gu...
Moving forward, not sure any news that can lift up the stock market mood..until QE3 fully ended and ppl starts to see that it is not so bad after all..
previously, there is still China to provide the glimmer of hope
faith or hope is not a strong support for stock market.
earning is.
When earning is strong enough that PE is so low, there is no way for market to continue to drop. Value investors will come in and scoop all up.
All these emotions will only make us commit emotional mistakes!!
remain COOL and FOCUS!!
VALUE STOCKS - BUY BUY BUY!!!!
Prob is not much discount yet for some gr8 companies yet cos fear factor not intense enough
China has trillions of reserve, so not much problem.
Can the Chinese liquidate its foreign reserves without severely pushing the price of the US treasury downwards given its large holdings of it? it will affect the market value of their reserves if they sell in large blocks. Also, to what extent would the Chinese govt cushion a credit crisis, I am sure it wont mobilise all of its reserves.
By now market should factor in this QE issue, believe not much effect from now on.
[SINGAPORE] The severe smog over Singapore caused by forest fires in Indonesia could hurt the city-state's economy if it persists for weeks, economists said on Friday as the pollution index hit new record levels.
Tourist spots are shutting down, companies are allowing staff to work from home and a VIP airport has suspended operations. Some Singapore restaurants were almost deserted during the normally busy Friday lunch period.
As thick grey smoke and the acrid smell of burning wood and grass smothered the city-state for a fifth day running, economists said tourism in particular could suffer from Singapore's worst environmental emergency since the 1997 haze crisis.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Thursday that the problem "can easily last for several weeks, and quite possibly longer until the dry season ends in Sumatra".
