Dear Hill

I shall not go into the technicals. But basically, it means buy 1 get 1 free... so good news to me on surface level. but need to see future performance and dividend payout to determine if this bonus is really good or not.

Hi experts. Just a newbie question here. Isn't the 1:1 bonus share as good as 1:1 stock split?

Got difference. I use my money buy and give you an extra cake versus I split my cake into 2 and share with you.

I understand that if the share price won't adjust after bonus, but I think it will. So number of shares you are holding will be doubled with the same value regardless if it's bonus or split, right?

Still 2 cakes in the end. value I already mentioned. one is I got money to buy and give you a free cake. one is I no money but still want to give you a cake so I no choice split my cake into 2 and give you one. whether you view the 2 cakes from buying and split as same value I'm can't comment. but quantity wise you get 2 cakes.

It really an entirely different situation why company choose bonus issue or share split. cannot mix together and assume they are same situation although theoretically it's 2 cake.

Since I am a non-expert, I would like to refer you the following article. I found it reasonably informative, and accurate.  Big Grin

http://stockresearchasia.com/stock-split...issue.html

In this bonus announcement, ISOTeam management has stated "The Bonus Shares will be issued as fully paid at no cost to entitled Shareholders without capitalisation of the Company’s reserves", so no practical difference between the two in this case.

A dividend policy of 20% max of PATMI, is a bit low, isn't it?
