This is the kind of announcement I like to see. Expansion into a different seemingly underserved geographical location on their strongest core business.

"The Board of Directors (the “Board”) of ISDN Holdings Limited (the “Company”, and together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”) wishes to announce that the Group had on, 1 December 2020, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Servo Dynamics Pte Ltd, incorporated a new wholly-owned indirect subsidiary, Servo Dynamics Philippines, Inc.with an issued and paid-up share capital of US$210,000 for 100,000 ordinary shares (“ServoDynamicsPhilippines”).

Was glad to hear from Keith from Novo Tellus on the call. It's a good showing that he took the time to join in. He did share some of his/Novo Tellus perspective on the investment. Of course we shouldn't just take his comments at face value, but neither should the audience take it too far as to accusing them of certain shenanigans. Some of the queries thrown at him was really aggressive.

Hi Squirrel,

Thanks for sharing the details of the earnings call, is there a mailing list to join ?  Big Grin

Did Novo Tellus(NT) shed more light on what are some of the initiatives* (in more details) they are working with ISDN to move the business fwd ? I think the cost efficiencies portion should be more or less completed.

I was hoping perhaps there could be some joint ventures/synergies(cross selling to customers) with some of the companies under the NT umbrella.

Thanks.  Smile

They didn't share about cross selling. Maybe you can join the next time for the call. I got to know it through a friend.

The research report that supposedly triggered the move today...

Note the language on the re-rating. Leaving room for adjustments after 2020 results are announced I suppose.

FY2020 Business Update:
-Positive Profit Guidance
ISDN Holdings is expected to record an increase in net profit attributable to owners of the Company of more than 80% for the full year ended 31 December 2020

The increase is driven by:
• Continued strong demand from ISDN’s core industrial automation business; and
• Growth in construction revenue from ISDN’s energy business as it makes further commercial progress on its mini-hydropower plants.

It would be interesting to observe how much ISDN would be able to capitalize on the exciting and promising 2021-23 action plan(link below). I am not technical enuff to understand if there is any opportunity for ISDN to move up the value chain, but perhaps its performance in the next few years could shed some light on the strength of its motion control capabilities.

A lot has happened in 2021 itself. First the company posted a profit guidance that underwhelmed, then posted a clarification that the prior announcement had not fully disclosed the non recurring losses related to provisions for litigation and receivables from investee companies. In its results announcement, there is also a sizable unrealised FX loss that did not happen in prior years. With FX it can go both ways, so I don't see that as a recurring item.

If not for the above, this would be a stellar year for ISDN. I have detailed more of my thoughts in the following link.
