Sorry I have not make it clear that I m a Uber partner driver, and m using my own car to drive. Since I no longer need the car to commute to work, I can either let it rot or use it to earn some Kopi money. So I drive when I like, typical in the morning from 7.30 to about 10 n then evening time from 5 to about 7. Friday night I m a bit hard working because biz is good.
This week I m off because of school holidays. In fact, right now I m in a hotel room in sentosa with my family for a short staycation. I will share some interesting stuffs as a taxi driver after my holidays ☺

Isn't taxi driving a regulated industry in Sg? How does Uber managed to bend the rule?

I think Uber drivers are only allowed to take customers on appointment basis. They cannot pick up customers at roadside, taxi stand, airport etc.
Mini Buses, Limo services etc do not have taxi licenses either.

Interesting. Appointment can be made in 1 min via app.

 Unquote:-
Yes very interesting. Though i drive, at times i do take taxi. So far 2 NTUC taxi drivers told me if i used a third party booking service, NTUC COMFORT(the Company) not going to insure me for any accident claims or whatever claims. Have anyone hear anything like that from NTUC Comfort drivers?

These apps are almost god-send to Ministry of Transport or Mr Lui.
Suddenly, the taxi fleet has become more efficient and there are more private car drivers joining in to alleviate the taxi crunch.
If I am MOT, I will close one eye for as long as I can...

i beg to think other wise. our Taxi Service is in a "mess"(aka all sort of surcharges that locals also confused) is because we all know who is the largest shareholder.

Just pondering .... perhaps full time investing is better suited for one residing in a place with a lower cost of living ?
