"Qualcomm stands to benefit heavily from 5G networks being built and issued a strong forecast for its upcoming quarter, suggesting that 5G is starting to become an economic force. Qualcomm sells modem chips to phone makers, and licenses critical patents to anyone using 5G technology. The company also said it had entered into a long-term patent agreement with Huawei, which will be a major vendor of 5G phones and network equipment. Qualcomm said it expects to record $1.8 billion in settlement payments from Huawei in the quarter ending in September. Qualcomm settled similar patent lawsuits with Apple, a major handset customer, last year. “With the signing of the Huawei agreement we are now entering a period in which we have multiyear license agreements with every major handset OEM,” Qualcomm CEO Steve Mollenkopf said on a call with analysts. Think they would have given more if not for Covid-19 environment right now since capital reduction talk was floated last October.

Nonetheless, it's slightly more than 20cts over the usual 8cts dividends.  Big Grin Big Grin

"As q-commerce gains momentum, speed to customer is of critical importance; industrial clusters which are located closer to the city centre, such as Jalan Buroh/West Coast and MacPherson/Tai Seng/Ubi/Kaki Bukit, are poised for growth.

"As the focus on ESG gains traction, there will be a wave of redevelopment to revamp ageing industrial buildings to make them institutional-grade and sustainable. Buildings with longer leasehold tenures will be in higher demand as the cost of revamping needs to be amortised and to reap long-term benefits. The MacPherson/Tai Seng/Ubi/Kaki Bukit industrial cluster will be a beneficiary to this trend, given its city-fringe location and strong accessibility via the Circle and Downtown Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Lines."
