Latest from roadside sources:

FCL issuing 7 years Bond with indicative 4% yield. The size is S$300m with potential for upsizing should demand be good.

With S$600m of perpetual securities being issued and ongoing refinancing via bonds issue under the S$3bn MTM program, concerns over an impending rights issue should be allayed.

Lol. ... it is all for a good wit from GG...

BTC would mean to be boh tak chek....

Why it is from the national day rally is because now it seems there is no need for a degree for singaporeans. .. having diploma and non diploma is good enough.

Now I wondering who is smoking who.

Am I right on... GG ? :p

Yeah,

Seriously, being a book mugger spoils the brain IMHO.

I always think that Asians over learn and become too rigid. Singaporeans generally complain over the competition pose by FTs.

While I am not saying that Singaporeans are not technically and academically unsound, they lack the ability to convince, converse and execute strategies as confidently as FT.

More often than not, Singaporeans lament FT being bo liao which to a large extend can be true as they are not as academically sound as Singaporeans who studied more intensively.

In the field of investments, I don't think excessively reading will take one too far... I think being blooded by the market and watch how con jobs unfold over time are more important than methodologies. Hence, I am always a simpleton focusing on sustainable dividend yield, looking for undervaluation and hunting down true blue Godfathers since the true blue ones are mostly the silent operators that often carry out stealth operations.

I think it all depends on how you receive the message. As the popular saying goes, " you only hear what you want to hear".

From what I have seen, the message has not been, there is no need for a degree for Singaporeans. That is selective listening.

The message has been one of multiple pathways to reaching career success, proper career planning, different pathways for people with different talent .

There were also messaging on misconception that just because you have a degree, it doesn't mean you can demand a higher pay, if it is irrelevant to your work, or not in demand by the industry etc...

There has been so many discussions, forums, commentaries, etcc....

But what do you get out of all this?

The govt is trying to , " it seems there is no need for a degree for singaporeans. .. having diploma and non diploma is good enough."

and your final conclusion, the government is trying to "smoke" people.

Just surprised.
