Govt websites are likely to be outsourced to vendors like NCS, IBM etc.
may not have the best brains or latest technology.
These hackings may be the test of SG cyber-security defence. To see if the team is really good or 'Jia Liao Bi" hahaha.
I think what is more scary, is the SG courts + all-covering Computer Misuse Act. These hackers if caught, will kenna jialat jialat.

i never really "trust" anything in the cyber world. i try my best to keep important UTD records of financial matter (aka CDP, CPF, Bank Accounts) in my thumb drives. Never on my computers. Though i am just a nobody.

A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

If 1 hacker in SG, relatively easier to catch coz GLCs owned all the fibre optics cables OUT of the country. All ISP owned by GLCs.

Our PM already gave stern warning to hackers that he would spare no effort to go after them, that was a serious challenge to the hacker(s).

The windows OS will probably cache your files somewhere.
For safe keeping of information, a Network Attached Storage with minimum RAID 1 configuration is a better solution. (Nowsaday 1TB NAS raid 1 can be bought for less than $500.) Thumb drives will go bonk anytime.

Hmm...!
Thanks for the tips. Is using cleaning software enough to clear and clean all traces in the computer?
