Logically, it appears any offer from Guoco Group on Leisure may have to wait. However, I am not legal expert especially when it involves different jurisdiction.

One interesting angle that I just discovered could lie in Guoco Group's other UK listed subsi 74.5% owned Rank Plc:

Essentially a gaming group, there could remain possibilities that Rank may buyout Leisure's gaming operations to achieve further economies of scale. That will however be dependent on regulator's perception on competitive environment of gaming pertaining to both set of operations.

As these involve related party transactions, Guoco Group HK has to call for EGM to get shareholders' approval and Guoco Group HK will be refrained from voting. Believe the by-law of HK should not be that different from that of Spore.

This is a billion dollar question. However in a liquidity driven momentum market like what we are witnessing now, the best way to analyse the mkt psychology is probably to turn to technical analysis.

I looked back 5 years and GL is approaching a major resistance of $0.81 seen during the weeks 25 Sep 09 and 11 Mar 2011.

If GL breaches $0.81 successfully, we may eventually see an ultimate target of $1.135. Unfortunately, I don't have charts going beyond the recent 5 years so I can't see the technical resistance above that.

Note that GL's book value is US$0.874.

Any inputs will be deeply appreciated.

Technically, my target after breaking 81 cents is about $1. Base upon the mid price between highest price of $1.8 (2007) and lowest price of 0.2 cents (2009).

Thanks you for calling me syndicates.Big Grin

I'm just responding to the quote above :

Of course trade at your risk..., will exit some of my positions near immediate resistance.

On close examination, my raw data shown a price spike to 1.8 on 26/4/2007, but the volume weighted average price only at 1.618.
Could it be only 1 lot done on 1.8? Perhaps should use highest price of 1.7 on 15/12/2006 and lowest price of 0.215 on 10/3/2009.

So the mid price between both is (1.7-0.215)/2 + 0.215 = 0.9575.

Disclaimer : I do not advocate price would get there, just pointing out the potential resistance.
