NOL was a forced move, I feel.

Is Malacca port development still in progress?

Is HST FROM Singapore to KL still intact?

Maybe another 10 to 30  years time.

Who can tell?

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

So Tuas Mega port in 2021 can rival Malacca port by the Chinese or not if Malaysia really agrees to the Chinese terms?

Unless another Najib appears, I think it is almost impossible in another 10 to 30 years.

RE: Singapore Press Holdings (SPH)
SPH Posts Net Profit of $213.2 Million for FY2019, Driven by Higher Income from Property
* Proposed Final Dividend of 6.5 cents per share (Normal Dividend of 5.5 cents per share + Special Dividend of 1 cent per share).
* Total Dividend is 12 cents per share including Interim Dividend of 5.5 cents.

Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH) today reported its results for the year ended 31 August 2019 (FY19). Net profit of $213.2 million was 23.4% or $65.2 million lower compared with a year ago, largely due to the absence of the one-off gain from the divestment of the Treasury & Investment portfolio.

Overall, operating revenue remained stable, easing by 2.4% or $23.3 million to $959.3 million with the improved Property revenue mitigating Media’s decline.

Despite the increased scale of operations during the year from property acquisitions in UK and Australia and the expansion of capabilities in the Media and Property segments, costs were well-controlled. As a result, operating profit was 12.2% or $26 million lower at $186.9 million.

SPH today closed at 2.13 (-0.030), down 1.39%.

From the results presentation deck pg18, "Woodleigh Residences still selling; 20% sold as at 31 Aug, maintains average price around S$1,900 psf"
I think with more planned condo launches in the pipeline and growing economic uncertainity, it may get harder for SPH to sell its remaining condos.

Note : Woodleigh Residences is in D13.

Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) will be trimming its workforce by about 130 employees as it continues to streamline operations amid the digital transformation of its core media business.

Those affected are from the group's media solutions division (MSD), magazines and smaller subsidiaries. They include non-contract renewals and retirements as well as 71 employees who will be retrenched. SPH newsrooms were not affected by the cut......

RE: Singapore Press Holdings (SPH)
Rec'd a SPH marketing email today offering ST digital package for $0.99 per mth for first 3 months with no contract. I think previously, it was a 2 year contract or something like that.
bear bear not biting, will consider $0.99 per mth during GE month to read fascinating articles !   Tongue
