Hi all

I'm wondering if any buddies have the experience of buying a stock in one day at different prices, eg 2 lots at $4 and 2 lots at $3.9.

Is the brokerage counted as one transaction(eg if its min $25, then $25 is charged) or two transactions @ $50($25*2)?

thanks and regards

Correction: It will count as ONE transaction if you indicated “Yes” for the amalgamation option.

Your broker should be able to help you with that.

That will be considered as 2 trades UNLESS the investor indicated “YES” for amalgamation of contracts before putting in the order.

Amalgamation/consolidation of trades need to meet some conditions though.

I think POEM automatically will combined them under one charge. I could be wrong.

My personal experience is that most brokers amalgamate the transactions by default for SGX transactions. In fact, i have not encountered a broker that doesn't.

Some brokers, like Saxo, will not amalgamate... but they are in the minority.

You are right. I often have numerous transactions with different prices on a stock in a day, both for sale or buy. At the end of the day, it is counted as one transaction, with average price.

I am using POEM

I just checked with my CIMB Broker, he said count as 1 trade(amalgamate to one contract. charged 25).

Maybe we can share in case its different for different brokers?

Multiple orders of the same counter, same action (buy/sell) carried out in the same day will be amalgamated. I believe charges including the min. charge are based on amalgamated orders. Should be the case for most brokerage houses but please check your brokerage houses for their rules.
