I wrote a bit about Courts Asia, u can check out the thread.
I'm overall quite negative about it, due to decline in EPS and increase in borrowings.

Too bad Harvey Norman got delisted... can't see their results anymore.
But overall I kinda feel that the IT retailing space is getting more and more competitive.

Example u look at jurong east area... Courts one shot open 2 big stores at JEM and Westgate! (Challenger has 3 stores in Jurong east, fight fight fight)

Revenues have been growing for them but margins are seriously declining...However Challenger seems to be a safer stock to hold as compared to Courts, due to the fact that Challenger is in net cash position while Courts is heavily in debt due to their expansion towards Indonesia.

I am not worry on the aggressiveness of opening more stores, but the acceptance of the new Valore Concept by customers.

The advertising on strait times are largely paid by their partners for their brands to be in the advertising.

As for the opening of so many store, maybe they have so much reserves in the bank they need to do something with it. Anyway the store opened at tampines will be opened directly outside courts. Will be interesting. Lol

Ya, I worry about the acceptance of Valore. I was hoping they go slower with Valore to see if it works or not.

Ya, same as supermarkets the suppliers usually pool their $$ together for advert to help build their product brand. Challenger does have a lot of cash reserve to play around and fight heads up against courts or harvey norman.

Too bad harvey norman no longer listed, cant see their numbers
