Of course la. SG treat them relatively better than other FTs.
No disincentive to motivate them.

Singapore is better only for the jobs available and the exchange rate and no Bumiputra's policy.
Even some Singaporeans want to make Malaysia their 2nd home (aka so much cheaper retiring there).
Didn't once KPKB (M. KHAW) encouraged Singaporeans to stay in OLD FOLK's Homes across the causeway, because of high cost of living in Singapore.(If i am not wrong he said something like that). Of course, only the "Elites" can afford to retire and stay in Singapore. In fact anywhere in the world.

Hahaha... viewed in context with now viral Stephanie Koh "I am not proud to be Singaporean" video, it is not hard to understand.

It is sad. I've worked in countries where they are 100 ranks down the development ladder (according to World Bank), yet the people there are prouder of their countries than we are.

Oh yes may be Iskandar is good for you. i have been thinking for a very, very, long time already; making Malaysia my 2nd home as KhawPKB suggested. But.......????? and Singapore is still quite safe leh. Other than this, .........

And to put it in a very bad way or interpretation - for Singaporeans who have slaved all their life here, if you can't get rich by the time you retire, it's better for you to die in JB. It's cheaper to die there. No doubt many senile old folks can understand that. The trouble is some of them can't even afford to die in JB. Then what? Die miserably in Singapore lol. In that sense how can i be proud as a Singaporean. i can be proud in other ways perhaps.

Most FTs are here for the job/money.
Very very few would want to settle and retire here.
Singaporeans stay in Singapore because friends and family are here, decent schools and healthcare.
But most cant afford to go without a job for too long and is constantly stressed.
I understand that the limited resources we have in this country is causing everyone to pay a high price for everything
but still, it just does not go down well with me. Staying in another country will have drawbacks but life will be much easier.
Too many people are just too afraid to venture out and for those that did, they will think why they did not do so earlier.

Yes. the previous easy policy of treating PRs same as Citizens is wrong in its assumption. Allowed free riding for 'two-timing' FTs with no intention to convert to citizenship. PAP waking up its idea these past few years.

Venture out? Not unless it goes back to the time when my grandfather was born in China. Then they are really forced to 唐山到南洋。
