Owned almost 1% of Vicom..

I noticed you used past tense. Went to check AR2012 plus from the first article which was dated 5-Feb-12,

I have since sold off Vicom as it has more than doubled over 2-3 years. My cost for most of it was under 70 cents and I can't bring myself to buy it now at around $3.80.

Firday's close was $4.71.... That's life, I have the same problem of usually selling much too early for my stocks...Rolleyes

The return is great. That was more than 500% return. In life, you only need a few like this to get above market return.

We normally value this kind of stock by PE and according it with a blue chip like valuation. The PE is around 14 at S$4.7, yield is around 3.8 and is technically not excessive.
I think he chickened out simply because he had a relatively large stake in Vicom.

The cash hoard is building up. I kind of think that they may give a one-shot special dividend anytime especially their parent company is not doing that great at the moment.

Comfort Delgro stands to get 20 million if 30 million is distributed.

Yes, he needs to improve on his valuations...Tongue

Hmm... you triggered my interest... in ComfortDelgro (went to check and PE=15.5 ; Yield=3.47% ; Payout=53.8% ; EPS Growth=5.5% for last year but 2-4% for previous 2 years). But, $20Mil - $30Mil is <10% of Net Profit...Big Grin

The last bumper dividend was in 2007 i think.

ComfortDelgro always looked interesting. But..
Going ahead, AUS$ is weakening, UK$ will not do much better. SBS transit is going to increase its services. Bus fare, train fare are not increasing.

1% of VICOM at 70cts?!!! WHY SELL?!!!

collect DIVIDENDS ALL THE WAY!! :O
1) Try NOT to LOSE money!
2) Do NOT SELL in BEAR, BUY-BUY-BUY! invest in managements/companies that does the same!
3) CASH in hand is KING in BEAR!
4) In BULL, SELL-SELL-SELL!
