S-chip halted is dangerous. I am not worried about Kingsmen...

Personally, I highly suspect a GO is in the works...but it might also be linked to this announcement a few days ago - perhaps a merger with a local player there ?

hmm... halt so long doesnt without any news... doesnt sound very pleasant to me.

The last time i kena a trading halt so long, the company did a share placement (the other one was Olam and you know what happened). Kingsmen doenst seem like they have sufficient money to make a General Offer, especially since they kinda planned to expand and buy a new building (more likely to incur debt). They probably would have made a General Offer last year if they wanted to.
That said, I havent heard any of such things from bloomberg or from the street.

Yep..USD3m sounds like quite a lot of money. But if they had won a big project there, it should had been announced long before that, since it seems pretty material.

All in all.. there was a VERY sharp run up before the trading halt. Perhaps some news got leaked out, and if thats so...its most probably good. so relax....

i suspect it's an unpleasant news like a placement or rights. companies always start asking for money once they start doing something in china. they always underestimate the cost and overlook things like ktv bills, 'red packets' etc...

I put my money on a Offer being placed on the table. I suspect - as it was half baked (still being negotiated) and market price started racing up, a trading halt had to be called.

In this scenario, I hope the price offered is compelling. Otherwise, the Value Buddies here have to band up to fight off the acquirer! Smile
