There aren't many kind of transactions that require a trading halt(especially on dreaded Monday)
A placement is possible but Kingsmen does not need extra $$$.
A right issue is even more remote.
With S$46 million of cash at 3Q12, it is kind of unlikely that they need to raise $$$ to lease a new building.
Project win? I am not sure what kind of amount of project win will require a halt.($50million??)
M&A. Unlikely, unless they want to swallow up Pico but Pico is far too big. The rest in Singapore are not worth the effort.

Retirement?? I have to agree with dydx that this possiblity is likely to be the highest.
I suppose many of Kingsmen staffs are shareholders too and only a good price will appeal to all.

Just a minor correction here - Kingsmen has indicated they intend to purchase a new building, rather than to lease. And it would be about 2x the size of their current one as their current premises are bursting at the seams..... Tongue

I acknowledge that the above negative news is definitely possible as well. Sorry for not factoring that in my initial analysis.

From MapleTree Logistics

Kingsmen Creatives
Occupancy Rate: 100%
Number of Tenants: 1
List of Major Tenants:
Kingsmen Creatives Ltd.
Land Leasehold Tenure
(Lease Start Date):
30+30 years (1 Oct 1998)
Purchase Price : S$13.9 million

A double of floor area is unlikely to exceed S$30million and most likely, they will purchase a building using cash + bank loan.

i was thinking SPH to make an offer for Kingsmen.... let's see how!
1) Try NOT to LOSE money!
2) Do NOT SELL in BEAR, BUY-BUY-BUY! invest in managements/companies that does the same!
3) CASH in hand is KING in BEAR!
4) In BULL, SELL-SELL-SELL!

I know that speculating about what is behind this morning's trading halt announcement isn't adding much value ........... but I'll do it any way!! ........... or at least talk to what I believe its not!!

I have just noted that Pico Far East is trading as usual on the HKEX (its up by the way). I mention Pico because they are larger and are a competitor of Kingsmen in several markets .......... and I have heard Pico mentioned as a possible suitor for Kingsmen before. I believe the fact that Pico are not in a trading halt means they are unlikely to have anything to do with what is currently pre-occupying Kingsmen.

Vested - in both PIco & Kingsmen
