I might be a little sticky with the Administrative work; but look at the SGX announcement.

The requester of the announcement is Ren Yuanlin himself. If the Chairman is missing, how the hell did he post a "request for trading halt"

LOL .... it is a rumour, just a rumour.

There is probably matter which is grave enough to require RYL to be relieved from the Board. The announcement gives the impression that it was RYL who made the decision, on his own accord, to step down. I'm not convinced that this is the case.

He may have already been caught up in the investigation before 8 August. What evidence is there that RYL was indeed the person who requested the trading halt, and not someone else?

This is the second red flag in two years.

Price tanks another 20+% to 81c for trading lifted today.

Beginning 9 August 2019, Mr. Ren Yuanlin has been granted a leave of absence by the Board to focus on the Investigation

While the former chairman being summoned for questioning is worrying, what is even more worrying is the global ship building contracts have halved compared to the same period last year(Q1-Q2). The previous base case was that with higher scrapping and mergers, the oversupply will come to an equilibrium. That base case may no longer hold true. When most of the ships are delivered and it still does not pick up within the next 2-3 years, the shipbuilders will be hit hard...really hard. But looking at the Baltic Dry index, prices are actually quite decent relative to the last 5 years. So it maybe a case of ship owners holding their purchases due to uncertainty. Confusing times indeed.

Yangzijiang continues order-win spree, inking new order contracts for another five vessels
* The new orders, placed by Asian shipowners, include three 82,000DWT bulk carriers and two 325,000DWT bulk carriers

One of the orders for the 82,000DWT bulk carriers was placed by Kambara Kisen Co., Ltd. of Japan, which has its own shipbuilding company under Tsuneishi Holdings Corporation. The 82,000DWT bulk carriers will be built at the Group’s Taicang yard, where Jiangsu Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding Co., Ltd is based at. The customer for the two 325,000DWT bulk carriers is also from Asia.
