Page 13 of 1Q2017 results:

As at 31 March 2017, total membership net of attrition for the Group’s Direct Selling business increased 5.6% to 460,195 members as compared to 31 December 2016.

Obviously, "China membership headcount" is not included.........

BWL’s first Star Diamond Ambassador:
TMJ incredibly accomplished 4 PD lines in the last 6 months of 2016.
Becoming the fastest growing record in BWL history.
Takinng over the reign of chairman Chao Ji Group in the middle of last year, she steered the 663 system operation and together with PD Eros Hsu led the network to reach the top group in China.
Her own network group groomed
16 PD
80 GD
434 SD in total, breaking the record in all regional market of BWL.
By end of 2016, she has made the impossible possible in becoming the first Star Diamond Ambassador.........

Question:
Would the impossible be made possible without multi-level commissions being paid ? Without downlines, would this be possible ?

After watching the video, looks like BWL has a very good chance to succeed in China if they can recruit more of such distributors like TMJ provided of course that BWL can avoid all the legal landmines facing direct selling companies operating in China as mentioned in prior postings.  Not sure though whether BWL management has cleared through all the legal issues mentioned. Believe quite unlikely that they are not aware of the issues involved.

Apology. The SDA is Deng Mei Juan (It should be DMJ and not TMJ).

BWI/BWL/BWZ should have a very good chance to succeed in China provided they play by the rules.

From the two videos of DMJ (including the one in post # 483), isn’t it conclusive to say that DMJ (and hence BWL) have been engaging in DS business activities in China for years, using the MLM model?

Carrying out DS activities without a proper DS license is considered illegal in China.

To play by the rules means to get a DS permit covering BWL line of products.

Carrying out MLM activities is also considered illegal in China.

To play by the rules mean to abandon MLM and adopt SLM (Single-level-marketing)- with single level commission only.

With no commission being paid to them from sales generated from their downlines, what would keep people like DMJ motivated or incentivized, going forward?

Be compliant or risk the serious consequences of non-compliance ................

If as what you have said that BWL has been engaging in DS activities for years in China using the MLM model, then how are these activities reported as these apparently are not reflected anywhere in the financials?

Ha-ha ! If all ground activities as depicted in the the convention videos "matched" or is consistent with what has been reported in the financials, we wouldn't be having this discussion in the first place, would we?

Question is: "do they match ?"

Apparently from the BWLMedia video postings on youtube, this lady has been around since 2015!

So is her PD downline!

Even the Taiwanese top producer Eros Hsu said that he was gunning for the Star Diamond position himself but admit defeat under DMJ.

Where would the sales amount worthy of a historical first Star Diamond Ambassador and her Chao Yue Ti Xi group of agents fall under?  There was nothing noticeable in Hong Kong DS revenue which would have been a logical place to see it (referring back to a prior post explaining the method of opening bank accounts etc in HK where MLM is legal).

From the 2015AR, that was when the export sales took off and doubled year on year from 2014 to 2015. From the 2016AR, export revenue went up 3.7 times year on year. Another area of extreme growth is in Taiwan DS revenue. There were multiple references by DMJ stating that Eros Hsu was her mentor. Could the figures fall under TW DS revenue? But there has been no mention of these stars in their bimonthly magazines.

It still remains a mystery of what is happening, but there are some possible reasons for this occurrence. Regulatory risk has always been the number 1 risk in multi level marketing / direct selling businesses, and probably sufficient discomfort for me to take money off the table.

Please do your own diligence, and happy to read through anybody's analysis of what might be happening.

And here is the video of her PD downline.

I wrote the story of why Truth is always naked but Lie always wrap tightly in Truth clothes.
Those stories and verse written in vb.com serves as a reminder to me.
Each time, when I read and re-read vb.com posts, the stories are very refreshing (even it's written by myself).

12 June 2017
B wrote: How did those PD (GD, SD, etc) in China being “created” under the "Export Model”
For the first time, I asked myself this questions and does not make sense to me.
Because, not only I read every AR and analyst report and more of bwl, it does not says anything about how these PD were created.
  Immediately, I asked:

13 June 2017
@B, Did I smell something bad?

29 June 2017
Reacting to WeiJian's post, I'm still immerse in my dream as I did not see any response from B.

2 July 2017
B unusually issue a one liner comment:
DS revenue is still zero. How could that have happen under the "export model"

In the meantime, I waited patiently for B to fill in the blank.
As expected, B wrote a long post and further clarify by asking 2 more questions which prompted me to think.

3 July 2017
B re-quote an article posted in this thread previously and asked:
     1)  How relevant is this article to BWI’s “export model” in China?
     2)  What are the risks to investors/shareholders?

4 July 2017
From the article, it's clear that Q1) is answered.
I'm not able to figure out the impact aka investors risks, so I asked what does that mean to me?

7 July 2017 (a few posts in the same day)
  B wrote:

9 July 2017 (Sunday)
The writing is already in our vb.com walls.
By this time, if you still had not figured out what happen then you must be blinded.
The first question in my mind is definitely weighing the potential rewards vs potential risks.
The secondary question is whether I should hold on and buy some time to wait out for the next Q result.
Last but not least, what's the *right* price or *right* strategy to sell if I so decided to sell instead of hold on.

Before I went to bed on Sunday, I got my answer.

@b,
I agrees to your rules, especially during current market:
1) Try NOT to LOSE money!
    - definitely yes.
    - recently, I had been holding off buying simply because most of the good stocks had already run up.
    - in general, MOS is significantly lower
    - the potential risk of bwl also fall under this category

2) Do NOT SELL in BEAR, BUY-BUY-BUY! invest in managements/companies that does the same!
    - it's very difficult to assess whether current market is BEAR (or bull)
    - the pattern is quite volatile
    - if there is a trend, then definitely I am sensing a push down slope

3) CASH in hand is KING in BEAR!
    - make sense, except for those who prefers to be vested all the time
    - just a simple reminder to avoid holding too much cash which bring down my overall number
    - I'm not sure about you, but with the recent continuous selling, cash is hoarding like mad

4) In BULL, SELL-SELL-SELL!
    - are we in bull?
    - not sure but my selling is definitely not done
    - more have to be purge
