Creative sued both apple and Samsung. At the AGM, Sim mentioned on the sidelines that almost 75% of the industry is violating their patents but chose to sue only Apple and Samsung as they are currently the biggest players.
The next step is to invite those Chinese and Japanese companies that are violating those patents to enter into a licensing agreement.
Seems like creative fortunes has reversed! Now everybody knows Apple has been repeatedly stealing Creative ideas since the days of the nomad jukebox!

A number of folks are already doing it in the market. To gain mass acceptance they need to have breakthrough technology.
Currently from what i did not see is mass market embracing it. Don't get me wrong. Is still amazing tech. So what makes Creative ones more special than others. Do they have something that tilt the consumer sentiment over ?

Sure not bad products, but are they able to create a large enough demand for it.
Creative still has been producing good enough speakers. But their targetted market for such niche products is small, thus profitability is difficult. It isn't like their sound cards, which had to be fitted in almost every PC worldwide in the 90s. ROAR speakers product is not a must have in even 30% of households, until it becomes widely accepted; do not expect a turnaround.
*interesting nugget of fact, Wyclef Jean was also the artiste that collaborated with Sun Ho

Creative Technology launches lawsuits against seven smartphone makers
SINGAPORE (March 25): Creative Technology founder Sim Wong Hoo has not been meeting investors much over the past couple of years but he seems to be able to make time for his lawyers.
In an SGX filing put out at 5pm today, the company announced that it has filed a complaint with the United States International Trade Commission, to seek injunctions against seven smartphone makers who together own around 70% of the worldwide share of this market.
The seven are Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, ZTE, Blackberry as well as Lenovo, which now owns the Motorola smartphone brand.
The company has also filed parallel patent infringement lawsuits against these seven companies in the Eastern District of Texas.
