hi Egghead san,

**Running away from a crowd when you are armed and wearing a uniform is an absolute disgrace to your colleagues.**
**Even if need to withdraw from the scene, they should have walked away calmly and in a dignify manner.**
i disagree.
i think they should try to protect the Bus Driver and Bus Lady Attendent in the 1st place. If need to fire warning shots in the air, so be it. Maybe we can not blame them if they are not trained to handle Riot. Blame the Upstair lol. Remember for 40 years we have no Riot.

I don't believe they have no riot training, even nsf doing guard duty practice minimum riot drill everyday.

I agree if need to fire weapon so be it and equally I can understand the hesitation not to do so, what I cannot understand why they never even broadcast on vehicle PA system or loud hailer to try to project authority disperse the crowd by not doing anything allows the situation to grow out of hand this is basic law enforcement 101

chinese saying 山高皇帝远 mountains are high and emperor is far away

Ha! Ha!
山高皇帝远 again.
(i remember OUR MM also used this quotation on the Chinese regarding our G's Soo Chow Park operation. This was when i 1st learned about this saying).

But i think not really applicable in this case or situation. The men-in-blue definitely have communication with their superiors and how BIG is our beloved "Little Red Dot" before re-enforcement can arrived?
Frankly, i am puzzled about the running away by the Man-In Blue in the first place. ?????
Dear Pianist,

Base on publicly available info, we can reasonably assume that it is no threat on public security. Your post might cause undue fear. I had removed the original post, and had masked it here.

Please take note for your future post

First, Thank you for educating me that the riot in race course road and the Boston Bomber are the same and you can compare them equally.

I was always of the impression that they are totally different and should be handled differently.

Did you know,U.S. has had many riots such as these over the years for many different reasons from environment to free trade , unjust politics etc... Did you know that they don't arrest all the thousands of people on the street ? They only arrest those that turn violent.

These jokers!! pfffft! They should arrest them all!!!

2nd, 376 to go? Did you or anyone see that exactly 400 people rioted and all 400 people trashed public property ? Did anyone ascertain that all 400 people were drunk and in that state they took part in the riot?

Wow! you got the facts so fast! Who is your source?

If I was in race course road by chance on that night at a pub drinking and came out to see and walked about, Am I one of those 400 people who needs to be arrested?

What about the guy who was trying to prevent people from throwing things at the bus? Is he one of the 400?

3rd, Are you from the criminal investigation branch that you know what the operations ongoing now? Have you done an audit of the police and its related organizations that you feel that they are incompetent and are a joke?

Appreciate your kind reply as I am eager to learn more you.

Thank you.

My understanding of the sequence of event is that the bus driver and bus lady had already been evacuated safely before the burning of vehicles and followed by the fleeing of those people in the ambulance. If they did not flee, would they have been burnt alive? Please remember that we are now looking at events from hind sight.

O. K.
We were not there, but i mean when the mob went for the Bus driver and Bus lady attendant, were there any police around? If there were then what?

hi Egghead san,

pls take a closer look....If the FT did not open the *door* first(FT who set them free)-they would have been burnt to death.

Yes, I saw that; but it does not mean that those inside the ambulance were saved by that person opening the door. My mental image goes like this:

People inside ambulance saw the police car in front got set ablaze. They wonder if they will be next. They do not know if they are surrounded and decided to stay in. When someone open the door for them and they saw that it was clear, they ran.
hi Egghead san,

If no one open the door and light up behind how? How r they going to escape?
That will be another scenario. Human survival instinct will take over.

Wah.... Kbl san and Uncle temperament

You guys watch too much Rambo / Die Hard / etc liao.

Most policeman will not like to fire their weapons (I know because I used to know quite a few of them in one of my previous jobs), although practise at range will shoot until fingers swollen.

Nobody needs a hero in this type of situation, especially a dead one. What happens if the mob decides to lynch the hero?

In fact, I'm quite happy with the outcome (Other than the FW who was unfortunately run over by the bus. From the facts disclosed, it is probably safe to conclude contributory negligence).

Nobody got seriously injured, only some property is damaged, which can easily be replaced.
