Based on available info, Adampak has closed down their previous leased factory in Ayutthaya, which has been returned to its Thai landlord after some repairs. Adampak's new replacement and leased factory at Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, Chonburi Province, is scheduled to start production in Apr12. Whether another massive flood (like the one last Oct/Nov) will strike Thailand soon, and how prepared is Adampak when it happens, I don't know. I suppose you can give Adampak or their IR Manager (Financial PR) a call to have a better assessment after reviewing S&P's latest update report on Adampak issued yesterday (6Mar12).....

To me, it is quite clear a strong business and profit recovery in 2H can be anticipated, and there should be more analyst reports coming out (after the briefing held on 5Mar12) to confirm this view.
Based on the continued buying this morning, Mr Market seems to be buying into this view?

It seems that Adampak will be spending US$4-5 mil to rebuild their Thai ops. They have also hinted that dividends would return to 3.0 cents per share if profitability recovers to US$8-9 million.

Adampak is heavily reliant on the HDD sector and a small blip in the sector like the recent Thai flood affected the business so much. Also, within Adampak's HDD business, it's heavily dependent on Seagate and WD for revenues. Thus, isn't it better to directly invest in the customers like Seagate and WD and suppliers like 3M instead?

The Hitachi's 2TB Touro Desk model of HDD is only going for $209 - i.e. $0.105/GB. This is only 4.7% of the $2.238/GB unit price of a 500GB flash drive - i.e. the unit cost/price of data storage from high-capacity HDDs can be more than 20x cheaper than that of flash drives of comparable or smaller storage capacity!

It is difficult to beat HDD in price in the near future.
Semiconductor plants are priced in billions.
HDD plants for bigger hdd?? it's the same old plant with a change in hdd platter and magnetic seek head technology.
