freedom the controller used in SSD matters alot. my friend advised me to get Intel instead of OCZ's because its read write are fast but not super fast as OCZ and probably last longer.

bad controllers probably result in them faster getting bad sectors.
FY11 (ended 31Dec11) full-year result just out, and as uaual the very high-quality and precise reporting makes interesting reading.....

Any cause for concern? - especially the Final dividend has been cut from $0.02/share (last FY10), to $0.01/share, probably because Adampak's BOD decided to be more prudent after a year filled with imponderables (i.e. the tsunami in Japan in Mar11, followed by a major flood in Thailand in Oct/Nov11).

Adampak's latest B/S is flushed with cash - USD17.55m in total, before counting the trade receivables balance of USD12.112m which is practically fully funded by equity. To me, there is a mini bank within Adampak! - ready to take advantage of any opportunities that may arise.
dydx what u think of straco
Adampak is giving dividends $0.01/share even though they can afford to give $0.015 or $0.02/share. This is taking into account that they have US$17.6 mil in cash. Shows management prudence amid uncertainty in Thailand.
I think there could be major capex coming on the way, not just in Thailand, but also other countries, Vietnam, China, etc. After the Thailand flood, some companies did have the thought to move certain business out of Thailand to other countries. Thailand will still be a major country for business, but probably less than previous.

my speculation only.
Curious - does anyone know which segment generates the higher margin - die cut or labelling ? Thanks.

Does the AR segment report shed any light on this? It's usually broken up by geography and business units, and shows operating margins for each.

Just a suggestion.

There is no such breakdown. Just the revenue breakdown in the review of performance.
Presentation slides for the 4Q/FY11 full-year result briefing just out.....

I have also noted that there has been a visible increase in volume transacted in the last 2 market-days (2Mar and 5Mar). In fact, Adampak managed to inch up $0.005 to close at $0.29 today, with a high total 454 lots transacted. I guess the people are buying because they believe the business is trending up again, as well as for the coming $0.01/share Final dividend for FY11.

Thanks for pointing this out, dydx! I have got a few questions on Adampak. Hope you/the rest can answer them.

1) Is Adampak still operating from the factory in Ayutthaya? If yes, is it back to full-capacity?

2) I understand recently Adampak has leased a new factory in Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, Chonburi Province. Is the company operating from this new factory? If no, will it be operating from this factory in the future?

3) If a flood were to strike again in Thailand, how prepared do you think Adampak is to cope with the challenges? Is Chonburi region less flood-prone compared to Ayutthaya and that's why the management decided to lease a factory in this region?

Thank you!
