With all kind of business, it is pretty useless looking at p&l and bs of the jsh and jmh. The best way should be do a de consolidation in order to understand listed and unlisted subsi.

i guess the process is as complicated as trying to value Berkshire Hathaway's listed and non-listed business though it will be less tedious.

I was watching a talk by Mario Gabelli, and he said the used a "Sum-of-the-parts" valuation on to value Jardine Strategic.
Like find out how much they own, and value the different segments by the current market price, and add it all together. Similar to how you would value Berkshire or Fairfax and so forth. More of a Price to Book kind of thing. There seems to be a few value funds that are interested in Jardine, however I think they may have entered around the $20+ price range.

I am also not yet able to value JMH or JSH at this point in my investing career. Here is a recent article which might add some insights or at least a starting point for a valuation exercise:

Thanks for that Nick.
DF is one of the stocks I'm interested in accumulating. The report contains useful information about their market share in different countries. I used to regularly look on remisiers.org, but got lazy and would have missed that one!
I wait until there is money lying in the corner, and all I have to do is go over there and pick it up.

This is a good stock. The problem I had with it is the low dividend yield, the illiquid nature and the FX risks
