Mayfair Gardens has just opened its doors for viewing, and generated a fair bit of interest.  Quite a number of people have come to view the showflat and registered for the balloting exercise to be held on 29 September.  But it is just the 1st phase of the Mayfair Collection.  Because there is 2nd phase as well, to be called Mayfair Modern.

The Mayfair Collection occupies the site of the previous Mayfair Gardens, that was sold collectively in an enbloc sale.  But because this site is bisected by a small road, the developer Oxley Holdings has split the site into 2 projects: the Mayfair Gardens (retaining the old name), and Mayfair Modern.  Both are separate condominiums in their own rights, with their own MCSTs.  And going by how attractively Mayfair Gardens has been designed, it would be interesting to see what Mayfair Modern will look like.  But if the name is anything to go by, it will be a more contemporary look.

What is known however, is that it will number 171 units, and be nearer the main road, and hence nearer to the King Albert Park MRT station and Bukit Timah Plaza.  So there are trade-offs.  Shorter walking distances, but nearer to the traffic.  But it will also enjoy the same key characteristics: the upmarket location in a prime neighbourhood, the same access to the greenery and nature to be found at the Rifle Range Nature Park, and the Bukit Timah Park and Nature Reserve.  As well as the same proximity to international schools and top educational institutions, and shops and restaurants.

The Mayfair Modern showflat will eventually use the Mayfair Gardens showflat at Blackmore Drive, just behind the King Albert Park MRT station.  But it won't launch so soon.
