Recently, a friend of mine presented his stock pick of FireEye, one of the hot cyber security stocks for 2015.

I wrote a post here adding on to the information he presented.

Although cyber security is a great theme to complement the mega trend of the Internet of Things, I feel we must still do our due diligence on the companies to see whether they are able to execute on this trend.

Also, I think we should try to decide if this company can continue selling its products 10-20 years into the future.

If anyone one knows about this company, I am more than happy to hear your views!

FireEye has a strategic tieup with Singtel.

Networking wise, I think security seems the last non-commoditized frontier. Most of the networking is moving towards software defined networking. For example, Cisco had recently set up security BU following acquisition of Sourcefire.

(my job revolves around IT procurement. Not vested)

I am also not vested in FireEye. Have not checked but from what I heard, FireEye's CEO David Dewalt was previously from McAfee. Apparently McAfee didn't do too well.
