How come he can "follow" for 2 decades?
Can meh?

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A Singapore man says getting the chance to meet Warren Buffett and thank him for his inspiration makes the $2,166,766 price of a private lunch with the investor worth it.

Andy Chua won the annual auction last week. He issued a statement Tuesday through the California charity that benefits from the auction.

Chua says in the statement his friend William Francis wrote that he doesn't want to do any interviews. Chua says he has followed Buffett's philosophy for two decades and appreciates how much Buffett shares about his approach to investing.

The auction benefits the Glide Foundation, which provides meals, health care, job training, rehabilitation and housing support to the poor and homeless in San Francisco.

Over the past 15 years, Buffett has raised $17,858,277 for Glide through these auctions.

2) Rule # 2, refer to # 1.
3) Not until you can manage your emotions, you can manage your money.

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

20k people at AGM nowadays... how to go Big Grin

Quote:"The man from Singapore who won an auction to dine with the world's third-richest man is understood to be Andy Chua, the chairman of Ames United, which started out as Yun Nam Hair Care," Channel NewsAsia reported. Ames United, with 1,600 employees, operates 100 outlets across Singapore, Malaysia and Shanghai operating under the names Yun Nam Hair Care, London Weight Management and New York Skin Solutions.

Quote:"The lunch meeting with Buffett is to thank him personally for his guidance all these years. Andy feels that these philosophies have been instrumental to getting him through several recessions, and he is grateful that he has come out triumphant," the statement read. "Andy will always be grateful to Buffett for sharing his philosophies through the many books Buffett has written."
Buffett hasn't written any books. But so many have been written on the head of Berkshire Hathaway that it's understandable Chua might think Buffett penned a few of them. Buffett provides little, if any, cooperation with these books because he has said he doesn't want to hurt the chances of his own book doing well, if he should ever decide to write one.

2 million leh if me I will try to sell the lunch invitation to the folks here Big Grin I think many will pay more than 2mil maybe 2.5mil.

I got a new business proposition for warren selling lunch hours if he sell 300 days of lunch (other 65 days vacation) that's 600 mil pure profit before deducting cost of a few steak burgers cherry cokes. If he is enterprising enough include breakfast and dinner that's over a billion a year. Tongue

Your proposal would fail the opportunity cost test of his time.

Another reminder of the substitution of time vs money vs effort. Buffet not much time left vs the money he has.

But he already earns more than a billion a year and control all his time personally.
