Fellows VBer,
I must confess that I am a speculator and unlikely to be a 100% Value Investor! Sorry.
IRAQ War - this is when I started my stock market operations.
+++++++++++++++
I was working on my desk when my phone ring... (desk phone ok. at that time, mobile phone is giant water-bottle size
"Good morning, can I speak to Mr Chia, please?", a sweet voice of a lady.
"This is Chia. What can I help you?", I reply.
"My name is Joyce. I'm the sister of your colleague. Last week, you had sign up to buy stock and I'm your broker.", nice.
"Yes, Joyce. Nice to hear from you.", I smiled.
"Chia," Joyce called my name affectionately.
"upstairs, everyone is buying Bejaya Group. You want to buy some?"
"How much is it?", I asked.
"25cents.", she said.
I took out my casio calculator and punch-in: 7000 / 0.25 = 28000.
"Can you buy 25,000 for me?", I said.
"Wait.... Ok, done. Thank you very much."
"Bye.", I hang up the phone.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lunch time, I walk upstairs to meet up with the CE and boy, they are so happy to see me.
Everyone says that I'm a rich guy.
Nobody buy so many lots of share, let alone a first trade.
I blushed as I do not know how to or what to say.
When I look up at the TV (there is a TV mounted on the ceiling ) it broadcast the AA tracer firing into pitch dark sky and then boom... explosion in Baghdad.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
The rest is history, in less than a year Berjaya Group take off and I unloaded all my shares at $2.50.
Lucky Lucky...
This is how I started what about you?
