SCDF Commissioner Eric Yap launching the White Swordfish on Wednesday.
To be deployed at the upcoming Punggol marine outpost,
the new vessel is the SCDF's third purpose-built Rapid Response Fire Vessel.

White Swordfish can respond quickly and effectively to ship fires,
as it can reach speeds of more than 40 knots with its water-jet propulsion,
and has powerful firefighting equipment.
Is this built by ST or Penguin? If it is by Penguin, then it is earlier than forecast which was Q1 2019.

On a sunday morning, with nice arguments from both sides, this is indeed a wonderful forum, but i find that this penguin is too tough for me, i will just pass, on a long term basis i am more inclined towards karlmarxs's views that ROA isnt fantastic, as for SCDF, i just cant tell if it will add meaningfully to the bottom line, it may have a high margin but it may not carry enough weight to add significantly to the ROE or ROA... Anyway if you are able to time the cycle well, coupled with a strong hype, with big nice pictures to illustrate, this is definitely a stock that will can help you make a solid killing, just make sure you dont be trapped at buying at a high price

Good luck to those vested.

Definitely need to time the cycle well.
For those valuebuddies brought between Sep 2016 to Sep 2017,
Penguin had go up 50% at today price.

For these lucky batch of penguins,
erh, I meant valuebuddies,
double of price is no brainer.

As for those not so lucky batch of valuebuddies,
if you buy now at 30+ cents, should not be a big problems too.

If nothing happen, within next 2Q,
we should be able to see a clearer and green picture.

Enjoy a dynamic moment by BTS and it's Army in Paris now:

From the above illustration, it appears that the 2 new aluminium fireboats Penguin is currently building for SCDF - a MRV (Marine Rescue Vessel) and a HMRV (Heavy Marine Rescue Vessel) - are targeted for completion/delivery soon in 2019 (next FY). Understandably, the MRV and HMRV are complex vessels and are smaller than the new steel fireboat being built by ST Marine, but both the MRV and HMRV are bigger than the 3 aluminium MFVs (Marine Fire Vessels) built by Taiwan-based Lung Teh Shipbuilding.

Looks like Care and Courage has been completed, with a change in naming deviating away from the Pelican series. The company continues to build more of the vessels, Comfort and Credence. It does seem like the company is confident in chartering out these ships.

There is also a new vessel model available called the Flex Ferry X that will be available in 2019.

And in their recruitment section, still multiple job posts open related to ship building. It does seem like the company is gearing up for more business going their way, for better or worse.
