I'm thinking whether is it possible for us, to reward quality contributors in this forum? For example, if I make $ from someone's advice, I can just click a Donate button to reward him with some of my earnings.

The donate button can be done using Paypal, display under the user's nickname. I know that people here are contributing more for fun, tying it with $ may degrade the incentive the give. But everyone's time is limited, if someone could make some $ posting research and get some $ as token of appreciation, that could be quite motivating. Please feel free to post your views.

is a good idea however another suggestion is to donate money for this site upkeep, I'd imagine there should be various fees for hosting, bandwidth and storage.

Maybe do like wikipedia every year put target amount at the top that needs to be raised for upkeep and just wait for donations. If you use a payment gateway like paypal I think each transaction they could charge some fee, to keep it simple everything do by bank TT from atm can already.

Of course if money is involved there's going be higher expectations for site moderators hor Big Grin

It will hardly be an incentive given that it is on the donor's discretion to 'donate'.

And if somehow there is a monetary way to incentivise, it might end up as a sell-side brokerage - publish as many as possible (i.e. it's a number game).

Just curious, but why such a suggestion?

Beware & Becareful! There is a saying, "Talking about $, father is not as closely related as we liked to think. Another words, money is not only "physical but very emotional too."
WB:-

1) Rule # 1, do not lose money.
2) Rule # 2, refer to # 1.
3) Not until you can manage your emotions, you can manage your money.

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

NB:-
My signature is meant for psychoing myself. No offence to anyone. i am trying not to lose money unnecessary anymore.

I don't support the idea; I've never expected to be rewarded for my sharing anyway.

But please do donate to support the running of this forum! Smile

Why not a Valuebuddies' charity fund?
And we can propose for any beneficiary.

Oops.. out of topic..

The best money to be made is from putting in $$ based on your own analysis and you happen to get it right. The rewards would likely be a lot more substantial than what another grateful forummer is going to send you as donations.

I speak for myself but I think I'll feel a lot of pressure whenever I share if I were to ever rx such donations. I'd start to feel a much deeper sense of obligation to my 'customers' and start to have strong fears of being wrong... Perhaps, stop sharing as it's no longer fun!

Right now, can anyhow post and see if someone else help to correct my mistakes...Then improve on it further...more corrections by others,... till I get a best analysis.. with everyone's help! Then hopefully, everyone makes $$.. It doesn't matter to me if some silent readers also make $$. After all, it's their risk to take...Big Grin

Thanks for your valuable input!

There are people in this forum, who needs quality reports and contributions. They got $ but no time. Demand.
On the other hand, there are people with time and passion but less $ to invest. Supply.

Wouldn't it be great if we can match the demand and supply?
