Finding company annual reports
Besides the respective stock exchanges and the companies' own websites, Morningstar also stores the annual reports of many companies. This is useful when the companies' websites or the stock exchanges (think: SGX) only store a few years' worth of reports.

I have managed to locate reports going back to 2000, a good improvement over the "past 5 years" that SGX offers.

The reports are online in Morningstar's "Quicktake" section under Filings. I usually find it easier to just search for "<company name> morningstar quicktake".

If you know the company's Morningstar stock code (different from the SGX or Bloomberg code) you can also directly modify the URL to get to their reports. Remember to modify the country code too.

This works for companies on other exchanges too, not just SGX.

Happy hunting!

RE: Finding company annual reports
I also used morningstar for old annual report. quite good place.

normally, what I do is to start with trading code in respect exchange, such as SGP for SGX, AUS for ASX, etc...

e.g. to search Capitaland annual report, trading code in SGX is C31

http://quicktake.morningstar.com/StockNe...spx?Symbol=C31&Country=SGP

to search National Australia Bank, trading code in ASX is NAB
http://quicktake.morningstar.com/StockNe...spx?Symbol=NAB&Country=AUS

A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

I think it takes much longer for the annual reports as the file size is much bigger.

I tried this one: http://quote.morningstar.com/stock-filin...ed31a8735c

it took a while, but can download.

Btw, for HK stocks:

http://www.aastocks.com/EN/default.aspx

Has a real time stock price tracker.. but what I find it good is it provides an overall fundamental analysis of the company. Think of it as a quick FA function for bloomberg.

It extracts info from each company's annual reports - at least 3 years back, hence giving a quick eyeballing of a reasonable historical performance. If things still look good, then can move on to data mining for further verification.

Save me a lot of time with downloading annual reports and tabulating the financial figures.
