Since he is in effective control, any catalyst has to be from him. Do not expect hostile takeover, 3rd party bidding...

Even if someone paid a dear price for Guoco Leisure's hotel portfolio, maybe QLC will pay out some for special dividend if he wants; he definitely will deploy more proceed towards more hotels under management or other business.

The hotels in london are located in prime areas. Definitely a gold mine. Plus Bank of England keeps printing money and driving up property prices.

if u work out GL worth:QLC wealth ratio, one may be able to guess why he leave it as it is. But fact still exist that he spent a lot of effort in taking control of it at the start.

Also why did he keep buying after his holding crossed 60% ?
Anyway minorities are always at the mercy of the controlling shareholders.

The hype of London Olympic is over ? Goes into slumberland again.
Most shares go up except this one.

We use a sum-of-parts valuation methodology to value GLL's diverse investments and businesses:

1. For the hotel business, we apply a 12x EV/EBITDA multiple on our projected FY6/13 EBITDA of US$92m.

2. We use NPV of future to value GLL's Bass Straits royalty stream.

Our valuation yields a SOTP of $1.12/share, and applying a 30% holding company discount, we derive a target price of $0.78.

At current levels, the stock offers 35% upside.

We believe our estimates are conservative compared to the stock's private market value.

In 2005, Guoco Group offered $1.25/share to privatise the company, representing a 116% premium from current price. Trading BUY recommended.

Actually, there is no point speculating on any takeover from anyone. Look at how the share price has been performing since the euphoria died down after the last offer. Even if there was any offer in the works, I highly doubt anyone here would be privvy to that information, much less be able to share this openly in a forum like this.
