full year report out. Quite ok. 0.8cents div.

there is a item in CF from investing activities --- "cash restricted in use". it seems to me that the company shifts cash of 9500,000 from previous year to this year. Is it a common practice?

vested.

Last evening (27Sep12) TTJ announced a set of impressive FY12 (ended 31Jul12) full-year results.....
http://info.sgx.com/webcoranncatth.nsf/V...6003D6C0B/$file/TTJ-fullyearresults.pdf?openelement [results announcement]
http://info.sgx.com/webcoranncatth.nsf/V...6003DA099/$file/PressReleaseFY2012.pdf?openelement [press release]
http://info.sgx.com/webcoranncatth.nsf/V...6003DA099/$file/TTJFY12MediaBriefing.pdf?openelement [presentation slides]

The results indicate that TTJ has been quite successful in becoming a steady performer. Based on FY12's EPS of $0.0475, investors in TTJ at the IPO price of $0.22 had a 21.6% return from earnings (before considering dividends) in FY12, and now have the backing of a NAV/share of $0.251 (as at 31Jul12), which comprised of a $0.06/share in nett cash reserve, and another $0.031/share in the form of a very profitable investment property - a 5,300-bed foreign workers dormitory which should have a higher CMV (vs. its corresponding latest BV of $10.9m).

As a growing business - and one can understand the need here to preserve capital resources to support further growth - the declared $0.008/share Final dividend however may not be enough to excite new investors.

The FY12 (ended 31Jul12) AR was released yesterday.....
http://info.sgx.com/listprosp.nsf/6c6be9...1000b3bd9/$FILE/TTJ%20AR12%20_final_.pdf
It is an interesting read of the story of another successful local medium-size enterprise guided mainly by a dedicated man and his time-tested industry-specific skills and knowledge and entrepreneurship, growing its next chapter.

TTJ has declared a higher $0.008/share (last FY11: $0.006/share) Final dividend which will be paid on 21Dec12, with 'XD' date fixed for 4Dec12.

I wonder would Mr Market continue to cheer this counter on?

hi dydx,
in the cash flow from investing statement, there is an item "Cash Restricted in Use Over Three Months" of 9.5mil. just curious what that is for. it looks to me to be a deposit for a project? that was paid in 2011 and became available in 2012.

i'm not sure but this is my guess

I think the item "Cash Restricted in Use Over Three Months" is merely the way the accountants/auditors choose to describe the $9.5m likely invested in a deposit-typed instrument which has a tenure or commitment longer than 3 months. If you refer to Note 20 entitled "Cash and Cash Equivalents", you will note that this investment was made before 31Jul11, and was withdrawn sometime in FY12 after 31Jul11.

This morning (23Nov12) at 9:18:31 someone has deliberately moved the price upwards all the way to $0.27! A mistake? Or something positive happening?

i think it's a mistake. even though there is some positive news, you can easily buy shares at 0.22.

United Engineers has successfully launched the iconic "orchardgateway" bridge, spanning 53 meters across Orchard Road....
http://info.sgx.com/webcoranncatth.nsf/V...7001518EB/$file/PressRelease_OrchardGatewaybridge_17Dec2012.pdf?openelement

Guess which company provided the all-important structural steel works - the backbone - of the bridge? TTJ, of course.

Just checked my bank account and noted a nice credit from TTJ's $0.008/share Final dividend for FY12 (ended 31Jul12). The money is timely for some serious post-Christmas shopping!

I thought it is worth noting that since the counter went 'XD' on 4Dec12, the share price has managed to hold steady at the $0.21/0.215 level, indicating that there are still some serious people out there accumulating TTJ shares.
