Your comment about giving "this forumer" a warning, and "potentially inflammatory" and "controversial thread"
are obviously targeted at me. They are in black and white; just go up 2 posts and re-read it.
You have not seen the videos, yet you use such strong words. That's downright irresponsible.
You are an accountant or someone holding responsible position in your career, right?
Yet you behave in this way.

Shocking.

******

As mentioned, if you have any issues please take them up with the Admin and the Moderator who deleted the thread. I was simply echoing the views presented by the other Moderator, and it was not meant to be a personal attack.

Your standard is very low leh. You made such strong comments and can't even substantiate an iota of them.

Instead you give such a lame excuse. It would have been better and more dignified of you if you just admit your mistake and apologise.

Please lah, before you start commenting the next time, think first and act more responsibly.

Saying my posts are "irrelevant" and "potentially offensive" are outright lies.

What needs deletion or removal is not my thread but a lying extremist.

****************

Please refrain from personal attacks.

As for the deletion of the thread, this was done at my own discretion and without consultation of other moderator and the admin. In hindsight, this might have been a hasty decision on my part seeing how violently you are objecting to my action.

As to whether I am extremist or not, other forummers can be their own judge of character as I am not a new face on this forum. I may be hasty and my actions in this case may have been badly executed but I assure you, I did not approach this with the worst of intentions.

Also, since we are on the topic of your thread. Let me point out how you could have titled your thread more suitably so that you would not have been misunderstood.

You could have more neutral in the title, of which some approaches are:

a) factual. e.g. 'Take a break from the markets. Have a laugh'.

or

b) media-centric e.g. 'Amazing sights around the world'

But to label your thread 'Foreign Talents' and to post videos which were meant in humour presents a certain element of 'mocking'. Also, to join an Investing forum only to post threads such as these makes your intent questionable.

I hope this answers satisfies you. If you still insist that your thread is relevant to this forum, may I suggest you join this forum instead.

This is not a personal attack, it is the truth. And this is not the first time you remove the thread.
What's wrong with the title "Foreign Talent"?
Why is it that posting them under "Foreign Talent" becomes something "mocking" and posting them under thread title suddenly and magically becomes OK?
Why and how is my intent more "questionable" than others when they too can post under "Audio & Video".
What is questionable is your behaviour.
I restart the thread with Admin's concurrence, yet you remove it, you are an extremist.
It's fortunate that your abuse of power is only confined to this forum. Imagine what could happen if you have power in real life.

Hi folkzvagen,

The following reply will be in my personal capacity and not as an administrator.

You are free to think what you want of me. I assure you that being loud and aggressive will not help you. In fact, it's only more detrimental to your cause in painting me as an extremist.

Unfortunately, for you more than me, it seems you do not understand what is 'framing'.

When you frame it like that, the message you are trying to send conveys a different thing altogether. Let me give you an example since that might be easier for you to understand.

Someone shouts the following greeting at you, "Oi! You fool!" Would you be offended?

You probably will. How about if that someone is a friend who's addressed you that way for as long as you've known him? You probably wouldn't. So there, simple example in framing or context for you.

Now, if you still wish to convince yourself that I am an extremist, let us do this the Value Investing way which is to look at the data.

If at least 5 of the regular posters (i.e. those with 100 or more posts), using the 'Reputation' feature, post a -1 count with the words 'kazukirai is an extremist' by market closing, friday 28 Oct 11, you will be validated.

You can have your 'foreign talent' thread and I will step down as a moderator. How's that?

Note: 5 isn't even a statistically representative figure so the odds are in your favour.

You should answer the questions directly, why use imaginary scenario like a greeting "Oi You fool".

You are deviating from the issue. You said they are "potentially offensive" How is it potentially offensive? It is either offensive or not
offensive. The fact that you have to add the word "potentially" shows you are trying to hide the inadequacy of your reason.

And why are they "irrelevant" when other non share market posts are not?

Admins, just ignore lah.
Life's like that, once in a while, there will be a conflict of opinions.
If you reply continuously, it will take infinite posts to end the issue.

End of my post. I will not reply to any further post on this.

Don't stir up unnecessary stuffs as I believe the primary goal of this forum is to create value which I don't think you need to start the thread with the title "foreign talent". Just an opinion maybe you can try using "just for laughs gags" for your thread title. ; )

I have a simple suggestion. Just add in the following "Terms of Use" somewhere prominent,

"The moderators reserves the rights to remove any posts/threads which they deem to be unsuitable for this forum, without the need to go into a never ending cycle of debates on the definition of the different English words and its varied usage or understanding."

or the short version,

"The moderators reserves the rights to remove any posts/threads."

With the above (for my own selfish reasons), I can them focus on reading quality posts/analysis on stock related subjects. Big Grin

Let's just focus on the stock counters instead! Big Grin

Yes, it would be good to have "Terms of usage" implemented. Smile

As moderators, we will try to be as objective and tolerant as possible. But we get that extra power to delete posts / threads we deem unfit. The decision may be biased and a mistake and despotic, but it's his right. Complaints can be accepted and also be rejected. It's the rule of the game. Hope forummers can understand this. Thanks.
