Interesting that SPH are taking down similar path as G.K Goh. The only difference is that G.K Goh decides to start a greenfield project (which they may try to monetize or reit-ize it in future), while SPH, with more resources is able to buy over readily available and mature assets for income generation to support their declining core biz.

SPHI, a wholly own subsidiary of SPH, will sell to Telenor 60,202,480 shares of 701Search, representing SPHII’s entire interest of 1/3 of the total issued and paid-up shares for a consideration of approximately US$109 million.

701Search Group operates an online classifieds business specialising in building and growing online marketplaces in Malaysia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

SPHII, Telenor and Schibsted Classified Media AS each holds 1/3 of the issued and paid-up share capital as at the date of this announcement.

SPH is a substantial stakeholder in iFAST prior to its ipo if I didn't recall wrongly.
