Hi guys,

I'm new to investing, so any advice 'd be appreciated.

I've been examining SMRT, paying particular attention to it's free cash flow(FCF). Of course, in the calculation of FCF, capital expenditure (Capex) figures are required. However, I found a discrepancy between the figures provided by my brokerage (poems, whose data is provided by thomson reuters) and SMRT's own annual report . To illustrate:

89.9 107.9 118.3 190.4 114.8 (From SMRT 2010 annual report)

(101.60)(91.10) (97.10)(139.50)(100.70) (from Poems, realigned so the order fits that of the annual report)

As you can see, the difference is neither small nor consistent.

However, the for the other item that i looked at, Operating Cash Flow, the figures tally perfectly.

Does anyone know what caused the difference? Are poem's figures wrong, or do they have different ways of calculating Capex? If so, which one 'd you guys advise using?

Love to hear your opinions. Thanks in advance!
