Moneyball? Applying stats (fundamentals analysis) to discover undervalued players (stocks) ?
Or focus on the player stats (stock fundamentals) not on the popularity (mkt perception)

They're both right. The player price-to-stats principle is a central theme of the movie.

The anti-thesis to 'moneyball' is 'trouble with the curve,' also based on baseball. The principles from both movies are key to good investing. I won't spoil it for interested viewers. Wink

For Moneyball: There is this player (bro of some famous player) was hired for the team. Undervalued. Eventually was let go because of some emotional/discipline issue. Like investment, some investments are undervalued for a reason and will stay undervalued. Also know as value traps.
"... but quitting while you're ahead is not the same as quitting." - Quote from the movie American Gangster
