Wow, you started at the age of 13 and already believe that investing and learning is for lifetime.
i started at age of 40 how to catch up with you? My ! my! ... i am only joking only
i like best what you think about "better than PHDs" - i have the same believe that's why i never stop reading about anything connected to investments from anyone(good or bad) even before i started investing.
You are indeed very wise for your age. By the way how old are you now? Wait... you must be 19+6 now, right? Wrong, you should be 19 now. Same, same but different. Actually you can be at any age now.
Hi Temp,
Age is not an important factor, its the maturity. We all need to be young at heart to keep embracing changes.
I started so young because my late Dad lost a lot of money and I was lucky to have met my sifu who happens to be a chartist that ended up becoming my school bus driver.
How did a supposedly brilliant chap ended becoming a chartist - he was a hawker at the old Keppel Shipyard - made good $ selling drinks and owned a bungalow in Pasir Panjang. He also owned a HDB flat but when rules changed, HDB forced him to make a choice. He decided to stay in his HDB flat, pocket the balance to do equities and bullion trading. Obviously, he wasn't astute enough to beat the asset inflation and ended up driving school bus and hawkering in a re-sited hawker centre. He still invests based on his charting but when my former education came, I realised that charting needs fundamental analysis.
The rest is history and now its a game, a passion and a mind food. I count my blessings to be able to enjoy the passion - up & down and for better or for worst, everyday I just take it as another day in university.
All the best all you valuebuddies.
