UPDATE ON STRATEGIC REVIEW

On 27 February 2017, the Company announced that the Special Committee was in discussions with several parties whom it had shortlisted following its evaluation of non-binding proposals received and these parties would be invited to conduct due diligence on the Company. The Company wishes to update that the Special Committee remains in discussions with such parties and that these parties have commenced due diligence on the Company.

I waited until my neck very long already, hopefully the offer will make the wait more than worthwhile ... Shy

A bit OTT but surely cannot beat C&P 'Strategic review' of its CWT stake, rt?  On-going review since 3 Aug 2015!  Big Grin

"parties have commenced due diligence on the Company" does this means something or specific milestone ?

My simpleton take on this. I note that 3 big boys are doing due diligence on the company, it means GLP must look pretty attractive to them. With that many suitors with deep pockets, I think the probability of a sweet deal is quite good, despite the company's assertion that nothing might evolve from this exercise. Why would big boys waste their energy & time over something they are not seriously after?  Shy

Well this effort can be minimal. I am more on GLP side why would they open up their books (or did they not ? ) for buyers (Competitors today i assume) to look if there is aren't some form of returns or agreement...

Can I infer that the longer they talk, the more likelihood of a deal coming true or the other way around  Shy

Deadline for submission of bids is June 30, 2017.  Another week to go.  Things are getting more exciting as prices are expected to escalate as the deadline draws near! Rolleyes

I have been exercising maximum restraint not to take profit in order to enjoy the sweetness of this mega takeover... Shy

Looks like interest in GLP is very strong. Even Temasek is said to be considering bidding (or maybe it's just an attempt to shore up the bid price). Makes me wonder why GIC wants to sell.
