cf, you had given a likely option a).

It may also be:
b) A local co, that looks like S-Chip and operate like S-Chip.
or:
c) A local co, that looks like local co and operate like S-Chip.
or even may be:
d) A S-Chip, that looks like local co and operate like S-Chip.
and more permutations.

These are not important.

2 things that I think:
1. There are many type of people/investor (with different experience, investment style, money).
Each will have different understanding of Yanlord.
An expert/guru might think that is a) but does it make Yanlord a)?

2. Even if the expert/guru is right about Yanlord being a), as time goes by, will it change/evolve?

One thing I like to remind myself - mindfulness.
I wanted to see VB.com as a fun place for our valuebuddies to learn from each other.
---- Being "fundamental" or not.

Do we need to be so "accurate" in our definition?

I like Yanlord and it was in my watchlist for quite a long time.
I studies Yanlord and I'm quite familiar with its operation and numbers.
I'm also very mindful of d.o.g.'s post in distinguishing S-Chip and non-S-Chip.

At this moment, I'm not comfortable with Yanlord as "I THINK" it is too complicated to .....

There are a few much more simpler stocks which are equally if not more under-value that I can safely put my hard-earn money into it.

I'm looking for a 1 foot hurdle that I can jump across instead of a 2 foot (Yanlord - in this case).

BTW, wish all valuebuddies a peaceful and prosperous CNY 2016.

HUAT ah!!!

Care to elaborate why you are not comfortable with yanlord and too complicate to...... TQ.

I really thought and believed you wanted to see VB.com as a fun place for our valuebuddies to learn from each other , but Now I think and believe OTHERWISE !!!

?????

I'm not vested in Yanlord because it's a china stock (ok, I know I know it's not really true but it's too hard for me to understand at this moment).

Back to the topic of following a fund.
I'm very sure there is a name for this holy grail (try google).
I'm a keen follower of Aberdeen (not very successful recently due to bear market).

My new/latest follower is WB (specifically his IBM purchases).

I think if a guru think that a particular stock is good, that served as a minimum qualifications for me.

A simple VB example.
Let's says CF thinks that CMP is good and you know what's his entry price.
Suppose, CMP fundamentally did not change much (in fact better stories) and yet it's stock price sold down by 30% of CF entry price.

Shouldn't you keen to investigate more on CMP?

Because share prices are affected by supply and demand. Its still a market at the end of the day. If demand exceeds supply, prices goes up and vice versa. Supply and demand has nothing to do with fundamentals.

Fundamentals of the company could affect supply and demand but, by itself, seldom move prices. Look at how long cfa here has been harping on the discount to NAV. What has happened? Prices has not even move back to the fair value of $1.30 simply because there is insufficient demand.

Good results but nothing much happened to the share price!

Not sure where you are coming from.
What I meant to say was simply one shouldn't take a analyst report at face value and should do their due diligence.Same goes to big fund manager.
As a example, looking at Bloomberg news for the past 3months we have 2 very different group of,one corner say to buy so cheap at compelling valuation, one group say worse is yet to come park your money in bonds or be liquid, who do you want to believe? It basically boil down to each individual stomach for risk isn't it?
Seriously I'm new to this investing journey, and looking at this forum it is good that people challenge/questioned another VB view.
We may all overlook something and I learnt we must all challenged our convictions from time to time
I'm Vested at this counter only on 8th Jan 2016 @ 0.99 if you are interested to know.

Wow, Aberdeen is selling again. It looks like they are going to liquidate their entire stake. Time to short this counter back down to $0.96. Yummy 20% returns
